The kia stinger gt uses the zf transmission. Let's hope nissan smart in not using their own or whatever transmission they use on the Q60

The 7at is built by Jatco, it’s either a subsidiary or a spin-off from Nissan. I’ve owned and driven so many of them....

Own: G37s sedan, FX50, 370z (wife’s)..
Drove: tested multipleeee 7at 370z’s while shopping for the wife, older to newer, all low miles, Q50 loaner cars a few times, both 3.7 and 3.0t.

My opinion: The upshift is ok, at the right rpm and throttle it even feels direct and sporty. But the downshifts and kickdowns are glaring weak spots, just like any traditional slush box, slow and laggy, but I think that might’ve been contributed by the programming.

ZF8 is great, but it depends on the car manufacturer’s programming logic...BMW did great with it, while Jaguar didn’t do as good of a job allegedly. Great if Nissan can use this tranny, just don’t f up the programming lol.

Lots of hot air blowing around in here.. same crap different day. Wait for some actual proof before getting all excited. And Nissan saying vague statements about the next Z isn’t proof. We’ve been through this how many times now?

AWD wont be happening. I'm sure they're not financially stable enough to experiment with untapped markets and suddenly changing Z philosophies. Just be happy it's not gonna be an EV crossover.

Oh I c. So it's in the programming.

I watched some youtube videos, and they did mentioned about the downshift downside. When comparing other cars transmission

In part, yes. Example - The ZF8 in the F90 M5 behaves differently than in a X7. In the M disguise, it feels more direct like a DCT (in a good way). But in X7, it’s more buttery (also in a good way).

Pretty sure most are aware this is all just hearsay until something official gets announced. Doesn’t mean we can’t share what’s out there and be hopeful something might actually happen this time.

I will add that the Z looks good except for the rear end.
The fender flare flares out in a good way. Gives it a wider look compared to the 350. but it tapers in toward the bumper.
It's like having wide hips and unusually skinny ***.
It would been better if they kept the wide rear end in conjunction with the flared wheel well

Realistically, I see Nissan putting the Z into hiatus, like they did after the 300zx, shut down some trim levels on other vehicles, then bring the Z back about 2025 to 2030...

Yep. Hard to believe they'd devote any resources to introduce such a low volume model given the sh##storm they're in currently.
