I had a problem with that part this weekend after I took the Z in for an Oil Change. The next day I was driving home from the store and heard this noise from under the car. I got out and it was hanging loose and hitting the ground. I got under the car and took it off before it came off on its own. Don't know if its worth putting back on or not? LOL

I'm interested in this aluminum cover....

Why is the Nismo one so expensive? It's just a piece of plastic.

It is an insurance/exclusive thing.
They can make money from insurance companies with this piece since anytime the front is hit this will be replaced, and also it stops people from just buying the Nismo parts and building the kit themselves (which honestly has not stopped anyone).

I think the bigger reason is the cost to make a small number of parts, You have to figure this is a very low QTY part for nissan being it is only used on the Nismo version. Imagine the cost of a plastic mold that size. The piece is huge!
I priced a mold for a small piece of plastic I wanted to "re-pop" a while back and the cost was well over $20,000 for a few inches of mold.

For those anxiously awaiting the teaser pics...

Chris was kind enough to allow us to use his car for test fitting today so we made the 4 1/2 hour trip to Cleveland today and took him up on it. Thanks Chris!

Should not be long guys, Prototype fit amazingly well with just a few minor details to work out.

ZSpeed Performance 370z Nismo Aluminum Engine Underpan prototype.
