If you don't like Zs (of any kind), there are plenty of other forums for you. |
Thanks guys! :D

My wife is from PA, and she always says the police there are way easier going than the boy scouts that run radar here in Wisconsin. But a free radar detector... really? Come on. If it's true, me and my Z are moving there. |

My wife picked up my Nismo a month before I get home from this deployment, and she has taken it upon herself to enjoy it as much as possible before I get home and drive her around in it. Every time she takes it out, she talks about how people stare it, or talk about it. Said she was at the gym working out the other day and no less than three different occasions did she overhear someone talking about it in the parking lot. When she stopped to get gas, two guys came out to look and take pics. Another time a guy asked if she was going to take it to a car show, because it looked like it belonged there already. I think dollar for dollar, the Nismo Z is one of the most showiest or exotic looking cars you can get. We just moved down from Cedar Rapids Iowa, to Kansas City MO. Much bigger city, but while I was home on leave only saw the rare 350, even rarer 370 and not a single Nismo. So I'm not surprised it gets looks. Likewise, I'm not shocked at how surprised she is about all the attention. Back in Cedar Rapids, I had a heavily modified 350Z; full Ings N-Spec, Carbon fiber hood and spoiler, etc. It took me some time to get used to the stares, and the random road challenges also. I did love it though and eventually I mostly tuned it out. Absolutely can't wait to go through all that again once I get home. |
After having it for 4 months, here are some of my experiences:
-I had a younger guy on route 202 highway beeping his horn and yelled out nice car or something. -Some young kid at the shop rite yelled out "oh my god look at that sexy *** car" and proceeded to go on about it -When i go to visit my old college friend in Harrisburg, his brother and girlfriend insisted on getting a ride in it, while parked out on the street my friends girlfriend said neighbors were out taking pictures of it -Two diff times at Cars & Coffee West Chester people wanted to ride it -If I'm rolling by a group of young kids you'll usually hear "i want that car" -Get back to it in a parking lot not unusual to have someone snapping a pic of it -Pull into the wawa almost everytime some person mentions the car either to me or to their friend -Cant go to Sunoco without having to talk to someone about cars for 20 min, i actually try to get gas really late so i don't get attention, lol -people confuse it with a porsche very often. At work, when we all go for lunch, and shop clears out, i get tons of stares, and comments like "what do ya got there a damn porsche" -Attention comes from guys 95% of the time, with females, rarely to never noticing it -People at work mention it "I got your papers - and by the way - i love the nismo" stuff like that -One of the engineering managers followed me outside at the end of the day and asked to be driven across the parking lot he was very exited, we ended up going on the road and nailing it a few times -"Thats a hot whip" from the "cool" kids or something like that they yell it out -The usual cell phone pics at car shows, kids finger printing it all up |
I went to Firestone the other day to get an alignment done. All the techs came by while my Z was on the lift to take a look at it.
Last month when I drove from Cali to Texas had somebody in a truck pull out his phone to take a pic while I was getting onto I-10 outside LA. First time I've seen someone take a picture of it while I was driving, lol. |
My friends said someone was taking a pic of mine while it was in the parking lot. I have had compliments after compliments. Not another car I would rather have unless its a Lambo, and that will probably never happen. I love the car!

Just to keep the thread on topic... :)
I bought a Gun Metallic 2012 Nismo Z one week ago. The first day, I had an older lady (60+) say, "That car is awesome," as I was parked talking to my friend. Moments later, a teenager drove by and said, "Dude, that car is SICK!" Then as I drove into my neighborhood, a small child yelled, "I want your car!" Three totally different demographics that all expressed their love for the Nismo Z within about an hour. Since then, a lot of coworkers that know I drive (drove) a 350Z roadster have excitedly approached me to ask if I'd seen the Nismo 370Z in the parking garage... so clearly it gets noticed, even in a garage full of Porsches and BMWs. |
^ ^ Oh yeah. I saw a black Nismo w/ black windows the other day... Got really excited; it looks So cool.

On a separate note about looks; the porsche panamera has been increasingly appealing to me, d*mn shame I don't have extra garage spots in my house  |
i get so much attention in my nismo that when i parked it by my job someone keyed the hood
|
Haters gonna hate... =(

I rode in a Panamera 4S up to the Poconos (150 miles each way), its a great car. All the ugliness of the rear simply translates into an incredibly comfortable backseat with tons of room! Its actually a great place to take a nap. Super high quality interior too, tons and tons of buttons and modes and settings.
|
Thought this thread was about how much attention the Nismo got. Seems Panameras get more (from people with Nismo's at least.)
|
We are car enthusiasts for the most part here. So a couple of posts about the panameras wouldn't take away from the Nismo's grabbing attention all over ;)

That center console for the driver is kind of intimidating inside the Panamera ( so many buttons) |

Back on nismo topic: My fav part of the nismo is how ppl get out of the left lane in a hurry when im in their rear view. Aparently the nismo screams "GET OVER" lol.:happydance: My friend in his WRX has trouble getting people to move over, he has to resort to flashing, and swerving around them |
The panamera is sooooo sexy . Especially with the spoiler.
|
Today I had a car full of teenage dudes pointing and giving me thumbs up... they did it like 3 times when we passed each other in stop-and-go traffic haha.
Sadly, not even close to my target audience. ;) |
gets more guys than girls sadly...

There are mixed bags about the panamera. I am on the side of those who see it as a pretty sexy car, especially in white with some contrast AND the spoiler :leghump:  |

I don't have a NISMO but wow the first time I got onto the freeway like 15min after leaving the dealer a murdered out M3 just started teasing me! So we both hauled a** for a few miles and I gave him a thumb's up! Felt like a boss exiting the freeway with my bro following me in my cooper S nowhere in sight.
And just a few weeks ago my mother and I were coming back from a day trip to Santa Barbara and this chick in a C class sedan (fairly cute) kept cutting through traffic and passing me we were playing cat and mouse for like half the way back home...I tell my mom look this chick wont give up she like what is she doing shes just driving u guys over react too much! (she also drives a white c class) lol. But insane POS milf fly-by's is what really gets me going... I'm surprised how much attention I do get specially here in LA...I see lots of kids in g37's getting jelly that there daddy didn't get em a Z. |
^ Cali drivers FTL... lol. I used to live in Cali so I know what the freeways are like down there... Pure anarchy.
While I was washing my Z today, had a guy pull over and ask if he could take a picture of it and kept on about how beautiful it was. He was actually considering buying a Nismo 370z. I told him go for it. |
@MacLean, Pandamera?
lol |

I got the wrong kind of attention from a cop last night. I was accelerating hard up to the speed limit and then slowed. Not sure where the cop came from, but next thing I know he is two lanes to the right of me at the next light. He looks over at me and calmly tells me that I should slow down, shakes his head and makes a right turn. I was lucky that was all he did.
|
I'm not sure about the laws in CA, but in Texas they can't do a thing to you unless you chirp the tires. At which point its considered "exhibition of acceleration" and only then if it is inchoate of drag racing on a public road. I intend to accelerate my Nismo as hard as I safely can every chance I get. I have little doubt this will draw the attention of the local popo. Being a former law officer though, I usually know my way around the traffic law.
