Default got a 370z have some questions asapppp

Hi guys, first z. Always liked them. I wanted a gtr but too hard to find a good used one. Ive owned like 7 vws all turbo and the z is definately lacking. I cant drive a non turbo doesnt feel right anymore. Anyways its a 2009 touring sport. Has an exhaust already. Got it for 20k w 3yr warranty.

I have a friend who has an 09 as well. His is stillen supercharged. Has navigation, a custom sub and box, suspension, header, etc. Hes repoing it this week or so. He pays 690 a month! I pay half what he does with a warranty! Anyways, hes willing to sell me the full charger in exchange for my oem parts. Before the bank takes it. 3,000 for the charger, injectors, pump, etc, sub, box, amp, header. Wed go halfs on the install which is only 600. However, i called stillen and they said id need to gonto uprev to tune it. Its 900 bucks and an 8hr drive round trip and id need to tow the car there. Is there a way to just swap ecus? Or would the keys and car trip out? Please help id really want it its very cheap at that price. Also it already has 25k miles on the charger, do they last? Thanx, also how bout the navi is it hard to swap for the regular bose unit?

I cant answer your questions, but I was wondering which VW turbo leads you to feel that the z is lacking?

you're screwed if it doesn't have nav in it already. Go aftermarket.

I don't think you can swap ECUs

I would use a Stillen supercharger with 25K miles as a boat anchor...or at least get it rebuilt.

IIRC, most of the fob-related functions are handled by the BCM, not the ECM. The ECM and BCM have to do some handshaking, so you can't swap just one without doing some re-programming (a dealer would probably have to do it). But it's been a while since I looked at that section of the manual.

This sounds like a project that you should delay until you've done a lot more homework. Lots of good info on turbo/super spec'ing/installing/tuning/maintaining on this site. Search is your friend. I suggest using Google/DuckDuckGo/Bing/&c and adding "site:the370z.com" to your search string. Lots of good technical info in the FSM (see link in my sig).

FWIW, you can get a remote tune that should get you pretty close to optimum.

Edit: As per falconfixer, it's very difficult to retrofit Nav.

Wouldn't the Stillen S/C totally void your warranty?

^^^What car is lame without a TT kit? Sounds like your friend spent his money on the wrong **** Why the hell would anyone dump that much money on mods into a car that they don't own and obviously can't afford, SMH but to each his own.

I don't think the Z is the right car for you, maybe try the Honda civic or something

1. Couldn't find a "good used" GTR, but
2. Can't afford a twin turbo kit on a used Z, and
3. Has a 2000ish VW Golf ("HID-Like" halogens?) that drives better than his Z, and
4. Is paying $345 for his Z with a warranty, but will be paid off in a year ($4,140 for an '09 Z?)

I smell B.S.
