![]() I’ve never paid over sticker for anything and I plan on keeping that streak going as long as possible ![]() Price wise, imo the Z and Z Nismo prices (at Msrp) are fair and in-line with historical price structure. If you look at the 350z or 370z prices and then adjust them for inflation, $54k for a fully loaded regular Z is fair and $66-$68ishK Msrp for a nismo is also fair. We didn’t cross shop anything else bc wife and I are diehard Z and GTR peeps. I also love fast Audis so it was either keep the TT RS or get the Z Nismo. The Nismo is not a glorified body kit like the last gen, everything was touched on this car: all bushings upgraded including engine mounts, oil cooler, diff cooler, transmission cooler, trans programmed for 20-40% faster shifts, they added extra friction disks to each clutch pack for better heat tolerance, the wheels are incredible in person with perfect offsets (almost perfectly flush, but not quite), better brakes, functional aero, recaros, etc. On 91 octane, most independent testers are getting 0-60 in 3.9 and 12.0 1/4 mile @ 115. Nismo engineers have said the car loses 30 hp on 91, it was made for 93 and on 93, they are confident it’ll run in the high 11s. That’s not too shabby imo. Is it worth the money? For us absolutely, no question. The Supra is a bimmer and we don’t like the over the top styling and fake vents everywhere, I’m an Audi guy, so an M2 ain’t happening ( it’s a great car though). Vettes in my experience, are American Chevy pos. Know a guy who hated his c8 so much he ditched it for a new Z. Vette build quality has always been crap imo. Mustangs, no thanks, bad ergonomics for me last time I sat in a gt500, hated it. Good news is we have lots of choices, so everyone has an option to suit theirs tastes. ![]() Wife is the hpde track rat so she’ll eventually take it to Daytona and Sebring, she’s really getting seriously back into ice hockey again so tracking is on 5he back burner for now. I’m thinking AMS alpha 5 in the next year or two though. ![]() |

I hope they come out with a M/T for the new Nismo. Because once my baby gets old enough to sit in the front seat. I'll be in the market for another 2 seater.

Nismo engineers said they could drop a manual trans into the car no problem, it wouldn’t require any special changes. They said it’d be noticeably slower though, the transmission is one of the highlights of this car. It’s totally designed around performance and faster lap times. They mentioned that if 5he car sells well and there’s enough demand for it, we will likely see a m/t Z Nismo at some point. I’m personally hoping for an extra saucy RS version at the end of the model run to give a big send off to what is likely to be the last non hybrid gas powered Z. |

I can’t give a really good review of the 9a/t in the Z Nismo vs our old DQ500 7spd DSG (DCT) in the TT RS since we’re still breaking in the Z and haven’t been over 3k rpm’s yet or gone out of normal mode.
However, even in regular normal mode easy driving, it downshifts noticeably aggressive when coming to a stop. It was actually kinda surprising, we weren’t expecting that. Bodes well for future ![]() |
