Not until someone gets their headlights fvcked up :p

Not sure if you know this dude, but if you mess up your headlight it's $1000 each to get a new one :ugh2:

I've decided that I'm gonna hold off on doing this for now. Bobo and I are gonna try to be there to help out, but we want to see how it turns out before we try it on our own. The both of us will probably do it on our own later on if all goes well.

eastwest2300 09-01-2012 10:05 PM

I know its $1000 each. I got that. Im not worried about it, I've seen it done before, Im not sure where along the process of pulling the headlight apart you can fvck something up.. I mean, in theory it seems pretty easy.

Again, thats just me. And really, all I need is for someone to show me how to pull off the bumper, thats just about it. Everything else, will be me, and my hands on it. So if I fvck it up, I fvck it up. Im not afraid of it though.

eastwest2300 09-01-2012 10:10 PM

Who's all down to do this mod? DM, you down? Khoi, do you have experience in pulling off the bumper? We need an updated list.

Cristobal09 09-01-2012 10:13 PM

Good luck guys,

You've all got balls to even try this, no way id put my headlights in an oven and pry them apart.

You're only doing it to break the seal (sealant) that holds the headlight together like a clam.

Really? You don't see where in the process of heating them up, pulling them apart, taking out all the components, and then trying to put everything back together you could possibly fvck up the lights? :roflpuke2:

Burning, melting, or cracking the lens are the obvious first possibilities....

eastwest2300 09-01-2012 10:56 PM

Nope! Not seeing it, sorry. Maybe for you. Not for me, I've installed lambo doors, stereos, alarm components, and other sh1t, and this just doesnt scare me. Sorry.

I'm not saying it scares you (it doesn't scare me either), just that there is always a risk of you fvcking something up when working on your own car. Only difference is if a shop fvcks something up, then they will/should pay to replace it. If you fvck something up yourself then it's more money out of your own pocket. With the headlights being so expensive to replace, it's good to be a little cautious.

I agree,

Lambo doors belong on Lamborghini's only.

b1adesofcha0s 09-02-2012 10:14 AM

Even my Lambo doesn't have Lambo doors :(

And for the record I'm only scared because I'm not mechanically inclined but I'm doing it anyway.

Hell, I did my own caliper swap without killing the car (lol)

Also hell yes I'm still doing this. I'm nervous because I'm not mechanically inclined at all.

Also need to be careful taking of my front bumper due to the DLR kit. I'm sure it just unplugs but w/e

Make sure you guys have extra sealant. Every DIY I've done seems to have me running out of supplies. Its even worse when it's something you can't just run to the store and buy.

DM, I like your attitude.. fvck it, lets get this sh1t done. You know honestly, if people that are gonna come to my place, that are NOT doing their headlights and have bad karma, talking about you're gonna fvck this and that up, I'd rather yall stay at home. Honestly.

Why don't you stop being a d1ck to those people who are actually trying to help you out. It's always better to be a little cautious and aware of what possible difficulties you might encounter while working on a project like this. Going in acting like Superman and thinking nothing can possibly go wrong is a terrible idea. No one has a bad attitude saying that we can't do it. We're just trying to be cautious to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Yeah I had a feeling it would be close, but they didn't have any more of that paint at AutoZone at the time. I'm thinking that when I sand them again to refinish, I might go over it with a bit of a darker color and then more clear on top. Maybe like one light and one medium coat of the new color and then clear.

See there you go again! You know what, I'm tired of dealing with your BS dude. I think I will just stay at home and let you guys have fun with this. If it turns out good I mighty try it on my own. Good luck :tiphat:
