Don't let any level of preparation deter you from HPDE. Most people don't have brake ducts. I don't [yet]. XP8s are great track pads, but even stock pads are fine for a first timer on street tires. Shenandoah isn't the worst on brakes.

Shenandoah takes the brakes off my car, ***** them behind the 711, and pisses on them when they're crumpled on the ground crying. Shenandoah doesn't even have the courtesy to call the next day. Too many braking zones, not enough speed between them to cool them off. Of course, my car sucks so YMMV, I just wanted to provide a counterpoint
