Jsmith7861 03-16-2015 07:59 PM

I would come but this weekend is the wife's birthday weekend, and our anniversary. First one we've spent together in years, I'm always deployed lol.

I got a gopro though, hopefully have some decent vids up soon!

I shoulda loaded it up with **** pics though. :rofl2:

So until I can start using my memory effectively, no more expensive small items for me.

bkngo 03-17-2015 05:12 PM

Glad to see SOMEONE is going! :stirthepot:

I've got several guys meeting us at Target on the way up. Can't wait to see how many will be there this time! See you at Starbucks.

Onelownismo 03-18-2015 05:46 AM

Wait, there's a meet this weekend? Did I miss that post?

Don't remember you ever getting up early enough for a C&C event.

Onelownismo 03-18-2015 09:56 AM

Pfftt I went out there one time with you guys last year.

Onelownismo 03-18-2015 09:56 AM

It's mainly because I always have stuff going on that I can't make those meets.

Tigger 03-18-2015 10:31 AM

Lol. Stop putting **** in your schedule and join us. Damn dude. I'm out of town on travel almost 50% of the time now, and when I'm not I'm buried in work and house renovations. So no excuses. ;)

bkngo 03-18-2015 03:35 PM

where's the meet at? I might go if it is early

Tigger 03-18-2015 03:49 PM

Williamsburg. All the information on meet-up times and locations has been highlighted.

bkngo 03-18-2015 06:27 PM

where is it highlighted at?

bkngo 03-18-2015 06:28 PM

i dunno if i can make it to williamburg... i thought it was local (like Virginia beach local, lol)

Darketch 03-18-2015 06:34 PM

You can easily be back by 11 am.

bkngo 03-18-2015 07:07 PM

true... let me see how much I can get done this week for class... I'm finishing my last grad course and I have a major project due next week (30% of my grade)... kind of a big deal lol...

That's it! I've always arranged a caravan up in the morning. We all arrive at roughly the same time so you might as well cruise with us rather than solo. As mentioned on the page prior to this, Starbucks @ 0645. Depart 0650. Stop at Target in Newport News to join the rest of the caravan. Depart 0720-0725.

We had 30-40 cars in the cruise on the way to WB in January when it was freezing balls. It'll be bigger this time.

bkngo 03-18-2015 09:42 PM

Is that the Starbucks by Mount Trashmore?

Which Target in Newport News? I might meet you at the Target instead if I go since I'm in Chesapeake. (Deep Creek area)...

Yes, the Starbucks by Mount Trashmore.

The one right off Mercury Blvd. There's a large parking lot toward the road that we collect in. If you don't go to that spot then security will mess with you. You'll see all the cars. If you don't see any then you are too late. Just head north and find us up there. Trust me. You can't miss it.

See that little grey pinpoint circle in the upper middle-right side in the parking lot? That's where we'll be.

bkngo 03-19-2015 08:10 PM

Cool... I should be able to make it to the target...

I've been reading about the Osiris standard. So I can purchase that bundle and they will send me the Uprev Cable and an eTune for my mods. All I need to do is install the software on my laptop, open it, plug the Uprev cable into my OBDII port, start the car/not the engine, load the eTune to my ECU, turnoff the car, turn it back on, and it is ready to go? In addition, do I have to data log and send it to Osiris?

I don't think I will drive 3 1/2 hours for a tune... It's not worth it to me for a few extra HP/TQ +/- 3-5whp/wtq...

What do you guys think?
.

Tigger 03-19-2015 09:12 PM

Osiris standard is excellent for just a straight baseline tune. For the price, you can't beat it. I'd do it. I'm going to do the same to my car as well. I think data logging is a good idea and send in the logs if you can. But I don't know how all of that works with Osiris. I'm sure they'll get you a solid tune though.

Voice59 03-20-2015 07:42 AM

There was 30 cars in the last cars and coffee ride?

Man it was more than 30 cars... To be honest it was a cluster F@#$ getting up there. People cutting each other off trying to show off. Dodge Neons getting pulled over for gawd knows what lmao. But I still had a good time. Even though I think the waiter with the phat butt put something in my eggs :stirthepot:

lol. It wasn't THAT bad. It was a cluster for sure and I think we should depart separately this time. But yeah. Interesting for sure.

Why is driving 3 hours or so such a big deal? It's worth it in my opinion. You're talking 15-20hp, not 3-5 more than likely. Plus your car will be perfectly tuned and get better gas mileage, where as datalogging won't get it as accurate. It's up to you though.

It was in pieces last time. How are you gonna get to the track if you can't even drive it to a meet? Sheesh. It's spring time, son. Get crackin!

I read that it would only be a 3-5 whp between a tuner tuning it vs an e-tune... I'm not oppose to driving 3-4 hours for a tune, but if I needed something tune related I will have to drive 3-4 hours (one way) every time which is not worth the 3-5 extra whp... plus I move a lot so there no telling where I'll be in a few years... Hawaii, Japan, CA...

BTW, it was nice to meet everyone at cars and coffee this morning.

Voice59 03-22-2015 11:11 AM

I agree...lots of cool people. Nice meeting you guys.

Voice59 03-22-2015 12:58 PM

Just a cry for help.. Anybody know a place that to go for vehicle inspections? Really need one!
