I may not have to get rid of the car afterall. If I can get this outstanding debt paid off by march I'll be in good shape. Might open up just enough funds to finance a Nismo model. And for the naysayers that own the Nismo (darketch), I want the Nismo. Period. Especially after Jason's dad took me for a run on the autox track. Awesome.

Cali was nice, Barbara and I were busy they whole time visiting with family and friends. And yes we are happy to be in Washington, mainly happy that the drive is done. But we are getting settled still.

Hey guys, new to the site. Very curious if anyone in the area has a 13/14 NISMO 370. Looking to get into a '14 NISMO in the very near future. The closest one for sale new is about 200 miles away.

Voice59 01-14-2014 12:36 PM

I don't know anyone with one....sorry. I think I've only seen one in this area of VA...

Great. Thanks Darketch! I seem to have a general grasp on the changes, and they all seem small… wheel color, interior, etc. I'm guessing the power train, drivetrain, and suspension is the same from 09-14?

Voice59 01-15-2014 04:12 PM

yup, pretty sure.

Suspension has been a constant in terms of fine-tuning through the years. 2012 saw a notable change in overall ride quality with the Nismo (albeit still rough like any other Nismo). I believe '14 also saw a small revision. Nothing that will be overwhelming to the point where you would really notice.

Also, 2012 was the year (actually 2011.5) when they started putting on the stock oil to water cooler which, despite many arguable statements throughout the forum, is a fine addition which will eliminate the need for an aftermarket oil cooler. They say autoX is the one where you would really need it and the naysayers will tell you the stock oil cooler is worthless. The one day I had it out on the track between my gf and I and the seemingly endless runs she was doing and my back-to-back 0-60 hauls, the temp never climbed over 210 and it was almost 70 degrees that day. So take it for what it is worth. But in my honest opinion, the '12+ model year is a must. If you get one pre-2011.5, hit me up. I have a 25 row oil cooler in my garage that needs a home.

Other than that it is all aesthetics.

Feel free to join us or post here that you want to try to get people together sometime. You may be surprised at the turn out.

I believe the Nismo suspension is unchanged from '09 to '14. The '09 and '12 Nismo definitely perform and react exactly the same on track. The later Non-nismo models did get a "euro-tune" for the suspension.

The stock oil cooler is good for keeping temperatures more consistent, but it is not enough for real track (road course) work.

FISH22 01-18-2014 04:35 PM

Thanks for the great info guys.

After talking to Hall Nissan over the last week or so, they're actually starting to help out a bit. We're narrowing down a few Nismos that are out there. And a couple are on our radar. They'll most likely be having one shipped in.

Is the Z community pretty active here? One thing I'll miss about the S2000 community is how tight knit it is. It's a brotherhood. I'm sure the Z community is no different.
