Wow... I've been too busy to check out this thread lately hahaha. I too want to say thanks to Steve and Deb for their hospitality last weekend! Great eats, friends and brews.

Park those Z's this weekend, looks like we might get some more snow. Won't be an issue for Mr. 5.0 and his chunky tires

semi looking forward to the snow this time around, get to see how much of a difference the new snow shoes make. Still need to get some sand bags for the trunk though.

Is this to add weight to the rear wheels for more traction?

What tires did you get? I have the Dunlop Wintersport M3s in 245/45/18 and got to drive around in the snow last week and they are awesome. Steep *** hill with 2.5" or so of snow was no problem from a stop. With some sand bags in the trunk it'd be even better.

Stopping and cornering traction is incredible compared to a all-season. The tires almost inspire too much confidence, but they make snow-packed roads ridiculously fun.

I got Michelin X-Ice Xi2 tires. Couldn't tell you how they are in the snow yet but they are probably about half as loud as the stock Z tires are. I will say they have made a big difference in grip on the dry roads though with our current temperatures. I don't get that tire hop either now with really sharp steering and I don't feel like I'm riding on 4 gigantic hockey pucks. Going to be ordering some RS-D wheels sometime within the next month so I can be ready when summer time hits!

Yeah, nothing beats having a proper winter tire on the car when the weather gets really cold. Our tires are at optimum operating temperature when we start our cars first thing in the morning.

The X-Ice Xi2s should rock in the snow.

SHIROZE 12-27-2010 05:58 PM

Found out today that one of my tires is bald - handled great in the snow though - oh yea, Its a Jeep Thing.

Z smiling in the garage!

Merry Christmas!

VaGntlmn 12-28-2010 09:20 PM

Hey Amar,
Glad you're having fun there.
If you're really worried about your Nismo sitting around idle, I'll be more than happy to drive it around every once in a while for you :roflpuke2:

VaGntlmn 12-28-2010 09:25 PM

Is there a meet this saturday (jan 1)?
If so, where?
I've lost track (get the pun? :bowrofl:)

afaik there is no meet this Saturday, since it's New Year's Day. Should resume next weekend, though.

m4a1mustang 12-28-2010 10:10 PM

Yeah, no meet this weekend.

thanks for the offer, but who are you? also i'm not worried about my nismo one of my friend already has the keys, so if you see a silver nismo doing donuts on the snow it's him.

I was thinking most folks will be hung over on New Years Day. If its nice out though I'll be out with the Z!

tooohip 12-29-2010 04:16 PM

Anybody up for New Years Eve (Friday) meet? I haven't checked weather yet and the roads look like crap. Just thinking out loud... ;-)

I'll come out friday if we meet at KC...

Kirkster 12-30-2010 08:23 AM

I could be persuaded for a MD meet fairly easily. Just need to wash off all the dust...

Sitting nicely lowered on the new coilovers...

Ya... Did an inch lower. now the little air dams in front of the tires serve as low clearance warnings.

The Coilovers made a big improvement in handling, can't wait till it gets warm and I can get a bit more grip.

m4a1mustang 12-30-2010 08:34 AM

I'll bet. I want to hurry up and do some suspension stuff but my budget is giving me the finger!
