I'm not getting the Z back today so I'll be picking it up tomorrow morning at D and V. I'll hit up Starbucks on the way back in Fairlakes.

tooohip 09-17-2010 03:44 PM

What's D&V doing for you Jon (too lazy to search)? ;-)

Frank, it's all on personal preference. Usually, less people show on rainy days. But people still come out.

Getting the two piece clear bra on my front fascia replaced with a single piece, blacking out the badges. Still nobody makes black lugs for the OEM Rays so I'm stuck like the others for a while unless I want to cheap out and spray them but I'll just wait. Then I'm over at AAM Comp on Wed for a dyno tune.

tooohip 09-17-2010 04:44 PM

Sounds nice Jon. Very cool!

When is your Z going to be at AAM? Maybe I'll see it there?

tooohip 09-17-2010 05:28 PM

Not sure yet Jon. I have't confirmed an exact date yet. It sounds like it might not be till the following week now though.

Yeah, I realize I'm just sorta bummed out at the moment....and right now even GB doesn't sound like fun.

Please understand, my decision (if I don't go) has absolutely nothing to do with the people who are going to be at GB. I just wanted to throw that out there.....I'm sure everyone knows it but wanted to put that in writing for quoted troof!

That's a big 10-4. The shop that has my car has only welded 1 exhaust tip on. They said they "may" work on it some tonight but they don't open on Saturday.....so I'm sorta SOL on having a car with 2 exhaust tips. That ruled Williamsburg out and now I just sorta don't feel like doing GB. I know it's stupid and I'm just bummed out so I may still go. Hell, may even go with my aunt in her taped up Mustang....we'll see. :icon17:

I'd be "illin" myself if that were the case. That said, you've got a group of great friends to share the afternoon and evening with so rest easy knowing "SMURF" is getting some TLC and will be ready to roll soon! In the meantime come on out and join "the gang" and have some fun. Getting drunk at GB with friends beats....well, not much so come on out!

Jon, I believe you could sell ice to eskimos.

I really can't make it, but I want to so bad. Additional good reasons to go include: Steve.0's birthday, and possibly the last time to see MightyBobo before he possibly gets deployed.

I'm hardcore bumming about not being able to make it. If things change, I'm there with bells on.

Hey Steve, I saw this 2011 Mustang GT Power Package and by the way, how was MIR?

With our exclusive calibration, your 5.0 will gain an approximate peak increase of 16 hp and 7 lb-ft on 93 octane fuel and up to 60 lb-ft at 1500 rpm. This Ford Racing Pack is applicable for both automatic and manual transmission models. Additionally, the Ford Racing calibration eliminates "skip-shift" on manual transmissions and the M-5230-MGTCA1 mufflers sound great.

# Kit includes:

* Ford Racing ProCal tool with performance calibration for significantly improved throttle response and performance feel
* 2011 Mustang GT High Flow K&N / Ford Racing Air Filter With Performance Calibration M-9603-MGTB
* 2011 Mustang GT - SVT Muffler Kit (50 State) M-5230-MGTCA1
* Performance Oil Filter CM-6731-FL820

# Premium (91 octane or higher) fuel only

m4a1mustang 09-17-2010 08:19 PM

MIR was OK, had traction issues all day long and found a clutch problem I need to sort out. Jay and I rolled up together (he didn't run the max) and we had a good time, although I didn't crack 12s today.

13.216 @ 107.19 was the best ET. Best MPH on the day was a 109.71. I am having an issue with the clutch pedal hanging up for a second on the floor after a shift (and in some cases not coming back up until I go back to get it). Also need some lower control arms to get rid of this wheel hop (jay will tell you how bad it was).

I'm not doing any power mods until I can get this car to my goal ET of 12.7, which I know I can do. I just need to sort some issues out first (both car and driver).

ZCarMan 09-17-2010 08:23 PM

Sorry to hear of the issues with traction and clutch. I guess that is where you find those things out. Glad you enjoyed it though. I'll enjoy hearing more tomorrow.

m4a1mustang 09-17-2010 08:27 PM

Looking forward to tomorrow.

Tony, if you don't come to GB tonight I will murder you!

ZCarMan 09-18-2010 12:10 PM

I stopped at Starbucks this morning on my way home from D and V. Didn't see anyone at about 10:30AM but I did see a graphite 370Z in the Kohls parking section. Then on my way out to 7100 at the light I saw another graphite 370Z with a leather bra driving toward Braddock Rd.

I can attest to the wheel hop issue. Out of the gates it was real bad, then on the 1-2 shift, more wheel hop. Really wanted to run the Max, but between having to buy a brand new phone (blackberry was a POS) and worried about the durability of the CVT, decided it was best to sit it out. Going to hit up Old Dominion's 1/8th mile sometime real soon and see what times I can run

ZCarMan 09-18-2010 12:49 PM

Jay, you gonna be at GB this afternoon?

m4a1mustang 09-18-2010 01:09 PM

Jay's gonna be at a wedding.

I should be there right around 4.

Got a friends wedding at 5pm today so won't be able to make it unfortunately. At least you all don't have to reserve a "bus lane" for the Maxima as Al so kindly stated this week :bowrofl:
