REALLY! Last two week trip I took was 5 pairs underwear, bathing suit, 4 pairs socks, couple shirts, pants, suit, t-brush & paste, brush, q-tips, razor. Throw in bag - throw in car - buckle - drive to airport. So ten minutes later. Are you a girl?

I thought I had really cheap insurance... but now that the dust has settled.. I am not happy with my insurance rate (classified).

I got a quote with USAA and its not much better...

worst... I drive like I have a million dollars in insurance... but its actually pretty weak. ...maybe I shouldn't just shift like grandma, but drive like her too.

hazzazi 11-12-2010 09:23 PM

this is the plastic bag that was causing all the trouble...somehow it managed to rip into the filter and get stuck.... also my car runs fine after i took it out, but nissan still wants me to pay about 1100$ to fix it. so just incase something might be wrong, i towed the car to AAM to check it out, and do some quick fixes.

Amar, thanks for sharing the pictures and information. Very insightful.

I'll read back and see which dealer you were working with, to make sure I dont go there :)

I have seen some people's car with two intakes... but I havent' really look under my hood even to see whats in there... but the point was that with two intakes maybe it shouldn't have blocked all the air like that... dont know. I'll take a look under my hood one of these days. Can also be one intake per side of the engine (3 cyls).

s0ftimage 11-12-2010 09:37 PM

By the way, AutoZone, Advanced Auto Parts, Pep Boys, all sell air filters. You could call around and see if they have the filter for it in stock.

In regards to the sensor... if the engine light is not on, then it should be ok.

hazzazi 11-12-2010 09:42 PM

thanks frank, but AAM will get me a replacement filter :)...

Here is a birds eye view of where the Starbucks is in the Bowie Town Center and the area we could park in. I'd think that at 10AM there will be plenty of parking in the Longhorn Steakhouse parking lot. We can always move if need be, the place is large.

bump

shadoquad 11-13-2010 08:32 AM

I am at the longhorn. Plenty of parking. Gonna go grab a coffee.

hazzazi 11-13-2010 08:49 AM

Kirk, Al, Frank, Amar, Lance...Pat and I had a nice time today. The weather was about as nice as one could ask for and the Misfit Red was mighty tasty indeed!

GTLAW 11-13-2010 02:34 PM

ROFL!!!!! WOW.. Talk about trying to RAPE YOU A NEW ***!!!

I would never go back to that NISSAN dealer!! why on earth would they try and make you replace your whole intake system over a bag!!! They must have saw you coming, that intake system is not made of paper.. All they had to do was clean out the bag and put a new OEM filter in and call it a day.

Just wow, this number 12243435353### why I don't go to dealer,, nothing but sharks!!!

I swapped out the stock air boxes for a set of K&N Typhoons, and apparently f'd up the install. Five days later, a small piece of rubber got caught in the throttle body and I was DOA. I had the car towed to the dealership. The service manager called me a couple of hours later. My car was fixed, but it wasn't covered by the warranty.
Total bill: about $375, and $100 of that was towing; and I'm INSIDE the filters.
How the he** can this dealer justify $1100+???????

well this is the break down:

$500 for towing and new intakes
$600 for mas airflow sensor or something like that

thats what i was told... and thats about 1100$ ...anyways, i took it somewhere else, and i'm sure my car is fine after i removed the bag ...

Saturday was very, very fun. I like the Bowie Town Center location. Good food, good beer, and good coffee all within walking distance!

I took pix when I left. I'll post them later.

In all, we had myself, Kirk, Lance, Jon & Pat, Frank, Amar, Paul and Woody in their 350's. We also had a guy in a Mustang GT park with us. After we went to lunch, another very highly modded 350 parked between Jon and me. And there was an SRT Challenger who parked next to us as well.

Good times!

Sounds like a great time. Would have made it, except i had to spend all weekend cleaning paint splatter off the front of my car. Even the clay bar wouldn't take that stuff off. Good news is that it's all cleaned off, and have 3 coats of Zaino on the front end

I'll be there (barring house emergencies). My plumbing did in fact break again after last week's Bowie meet. Yes, the plumbing that I had fixed the Saturday before that!

Kirkster 11-15-2010 06:59 PM

I will be drinking little fu fu drinks on my balcony on the Oasis of the Sea watching the water go by...
