    I would bet that the connections have loosened some. Since it is a new battery there is every possibility that when it was put in, they didn’t tighten correctly. Common problem. Clean up the cable...

    Bummer it got totaled. A 300K rig is always fun to brag about. I'm only at 137K on my Dakota. Still going though. May have some work to do on the xfer case though.
