if the wheel+tire overall diameters are (essentially) identical, why should that be?

Just from Googling the different wheels issue and this came back:

At low enough speeds, a short distance would be okay. The problem is
that the differential gears aren't generally designed to rotate
continuously and will generate heat when they are. A little bit of
rotation here and there will be handled fine by the oil, but more
continuous rotation will generate heat beyond the ability of the oil
to dissipate, leading to oil breakdown, lubrication failure and
ultimately unlubricated metal-to-metal rubbing.

Take it for what it says.....I'm just copying and pasting what someone else said.

You kept out the context - they were talking about different sizes on each side of the axle, about 2.5%.

How close are the 18's and 20's rolling diameter?

(Of course, you're handling has to be compromised - I wouldn't do it.)

as i said i have a couple of mods small mods that im doing this month... i also had one mod that has been bugging the hell outa me.... which is my stillen grounding it.... reason being is that the stupid wires faded out and look orange... so with that said my ocd has finally pushed me into resolving the issue.... i didnt feel like spending another 80 bucks on a grounding kit from stillen so i decided to make my own.... stillens grounding kit was sorta short in some areas and i was not able to manuever the wires the way i liked too.... so with my own grounding kit i made some wires longer... here are some pics... i actually only finished half the grounding kit lol.... i was tired from work today.... info on the grounding kit.... its made outa 4gauge instead of the 8 gauge stillen uses and all the terminals are soldered by me

UGLY ORANGEY WIRES!!!

NEW GROUNDING KIT

i did three grounding points today.... ill finish the other three points on the right side of the bay tomoro.....

Do you feel they actually make a meaningful difference? I wrote them off a little while ago since most said they could only really make a noticeable improvement on an A/T car but you have a 6MT and obviously like them enough to make your own.

Don't forget to weigh the whole set, so you can figure about the shipping. Before you go ahead and make any.
