Cage looks amazing Wiggins, very nice

I had the shop lower the front of my car when they were waiting on the cage to come back from powdercoat. For $50 it saved me the headache of pulling the lower strut mounts and brackets apart again. Although I love doing my own work when I can, I didn't think I would have the time before Offset Kings in Chicago next weekend, plus this weekend will be claybaring, waxing and polishing time. I can still drop the fronts and backs an additional .5" or so, but I didn't want to do anything too crazy before my Works get here. Now I think I need to get some spacers for the front to get a little better fitment.

Damn thats low!

Don't go too low before heading to Chicago! the roads here are awful for that!!!

Luckily I have the luxury of being able to raise my car, hopefully it won't be a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

btw....I think you mentioned the Outkast show is June 8. I have to work in the morning, but there is the Rt 66 show in Romeoville on June 8th. It would be more realistic for me to make that show. It's a lot closer to me and I'd likely be able to make it after work before it closes. It's about 5-10 minutes off of I55. So I think I'm going to go to that one. Good luck at Outkast though!:tiphat: |

Thanks Sim. I can't say enough about the quality of the cage. I've talked to the owner at Endurance Motorsports (they made the cage) about making some for members and they seem up to it. I'd have to take my car in for them to make a jig, but if a couple people are interested I have no problem doing it. I believe it's all bolt in so self installing may be possible. Hit me up if you're interested. In other news here is another shot of my car after Endurance dropped the front end 1". I love the look and think it'll look even better with more aggressive wheels. I can also give a very short review on the Phantom Cup Kit on Stance Coils. Well... It's amazing. Now that my front end is lower I ride with air in the cups to raise the car about 1" on all four corners and it feels no different than regular coils. I was concerned it would stiffen the suspension a little but nothing. If anyone is thinking about going to air suspension seriously consider air cups over bags. I've price them both out and the cost is almost the same and you don't lose any handling performance with cups. If your desire is to get real low, use Stance coils with the system. Like I've said before I can still go another .5" lower on all four corners. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/30/upenutah.jpg |
Cups are next winters project.

Clayed and waxed her this weekend in preparation for Offset Kings Chicago. Still need to detail the engine bay, including a minor wire tuck and installing some more aggressive spacers since my Works still aren't here, going with 25mm in the back and 15mm in the front.

Did u make to the West Heritage Z show??? I couldn't not make it due to work:shakes head:
|
No I didn't get there. Too bad, there were a few guys with older Zs going from this area too.
|
I didn't make it either. After driving to Chicago last weekend I didn't have another 4+ hour drive in me.
In other news I started working on replicating O&G's wire tuck. Figured this will hold me off until I get time to meet up with Rid3_FaMOuS to do the full out tuck. Given it scared the hell out of me I only completed the two headlight looms today. I plan on doing the starter and other cables once I have a chance to talk to Sim about them. I also should be receiving my Tommy Kaira, Carbon Fiber Element suede shift boot and if I'm lucky my Vortex Steering Wheel and Work wheels this week. Stay tuned!! I've also been wondering if I could use an aftermarket external horn button kit (like the one pictured) to wire my cruise control and phone button to once I install my aftermarket wheel. Does anyone know if this could work?? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/16/nynune7u.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/16/ypetyza8.jpg |

I don't think I'll make it. I'm heading to NY a few weeks later for Wekfest and don't think my back will be able To handle that much time in the Brides. Plus I get the feeling my girlfriend won't appreciate two trips that month. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Nice Z!! Where did u put the tank for the cup kit?

I tried with mine, but the tank was too tall. If you raise the floor a little or get a pancake style tank it would work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Had a pretty big week, received my Tommy Kaira shift knob and love it, finished my wire relocation (calling it a wire tuck isn't fair) and ended up purchasing a used Amuse exhaust and found a lead on the matching Amuse y pipe. Even more so I finally sold some of the parts I had lying around including the GT Spec Strut Bar and Fast Intentions headers. I really wanted to install those headers, but finding a reputable tuner in the area was going to be a hassle, even though Dynosty is just a couple hours away getting the car there would have been a pain. I should have the Amuse exhaust in the next week with my Works and my Vortex steering wheel. Looks like I'll be having an install party very soon.
On a different note JDM Chicago and Offset Kings released their official video the other day. I remember when Sim posted the one from Guam last year and how good the quality was, well this one is no different. Here's a good recap for those who missed the show. OFFSET KINGS | Chicago 2014 on Vimeo |
Need pics of your wire relocation. :excited:
