They are all add ons, but the lip has been molded into the front bumper with body filler (I think that's how it is done I honestly don't know) so there are no lines between the bumper and the lip. The rear pieces have been glued on and they won't ever come off, so maybe molded isn't the right term, but I dont know what else to call it.

GaleForce 05-04-2014 07:21 PM

Moulded would be "add on" part that have been blended/grafted into the existing panel so no seam is visible. Like my front end.

Wiggins3377 05-04-2014 07:22 PM

Fair enough. The front is molded the rear is glued ;)

Ic. That makes sense.
How does the molding hold up with rubbing on roads?
Has it cracked ever??

No cracks or anything, there are a few scrapes on the bottom from regular driving. The lip is on there for good.

I was thinkin of doing the same with mine, but worried it would crack if there is zero play in the lip.....

Shouldn't be a problem if installed properly.

Well I got rid of the TS brace bar cover and found an Amuse version. It should be delivered this week. I also dropped my car off yesterday to get a half cage installed, that should be finished in the next 7-10 days... Can't wait!!!

I wish I could get people to do things that fast around here.

Wiggins3377 05-13-2014 09:02 AM

Anyone close to Chicago? I'm considering making the drive up there the weekend of June 7 and 8th for the Offset Kings show.

Sweet

simota1 05-15-2014 03:00 PM

wiggins... you are simply a badas$.... :D thats gonna be sweet when its done... what color are you gonna paint the roll bar?

Wiggins3377 05-15-2014 03:06 PM

I'm getting it done in the same color as my calipers, burgandy grape. I'm hoping it won't me too much purple but the color is almost spot on to the purple in my Brides so I think it'll look really good together. I told the shop to replicate (as close as possible) the HPI roll bar (see below). I wanted to go with their cage but the price and wait would have killed me. This will be done in the next week. The Amuse brace bar is on it's way now as well, that should tie in nicely with the burnt titanium effect.

Received the Amuse brace bar in the mail today. Gotta say im really excited to see how this blends with the seats and cage.

Speaking of the cage, it went to powdercoat today and if I'm lucky, the car will be ready by the weekend!!! Fingers crossed.

shaun66 05-19-2014 11:28 PM

Your car just keeps getting more badass!

Luciano13 05-20-2014 08:56 AM

Wow you've done some crazy work these past 6 month:tup:
When u think you'll have it complete???

Wiggins3377 05-20-2014 09:00 AM

Never. Haha.

Thats a great question. My project this summer is the interior. I'd like to think I'll be done with everything at that point, but I'm already working on getting a new look for the exterior and would love a set of project mu brakes and an amuse exhaust... Car problems....

WOW! that's sweet!

I checked on the car show. I have to work that weekend as of now. I'll be free in the afternoon but not sure I'll make it up to the show in time.

Let me know if you're able to make it. It would be nice to meet a fellow 40th owner.

Sadly this may be my last new part for awhile, as I sold my house and need to save up for the next one (hopefully it includes a big garage for more toys), but with all the talk on the forum lately related to aftermarket steering wheels options (you know who you are) I started looking as well. I've thought about it in the past, but never wanted to make the jump as I didn't want to get rid of my steering wheel controls, etc. Well, now that I don't drive my car as a DD I decided to make a jump and bought the Vortex King steering wheel from T&E co., Ltd. Fortunately they were in the process of making a limited run version of the wheel in suede rather than smooth leather so I jumped on the opportunity and I think I'll be getting 1 of 20 made like this. The wheel should be here late June. Now I just need a hub and quick release.

Here's a pic of the leather version:

Holy crap you get stuff done fast. I would kill to have local services like you have.

Looking great! Think they can fab another one to ship to me? lol

Wiggins3377 05-22-2014 08:54 PM

If you're serious I can definitely ask.

GaleForce 05-22-2014 08:56 PM

Is it weld in or bolt in? I'm assuming weld in.

Wiggins3377 05-22-2014 08:57 PM

It's actually bolt in. I had to be able to remove panels, etc. so I went this route. They may have had to weld in footers though. I'll find out for sure.

GaleForce 05-22-2014 09:04 PM

Cool let me know.

Wiggins3377 05-23-2014 08:44 AM

The owner of the shop said he would let me know about making these and shipping them out. Would anyone else be interested? If I had to guess it will cost north of $1,000 USD for a raw (unpainted/ powdercoated) cage. They cut me a sponsorship deal since I'm local I also had mine powdercoated which cost me an additional $250 and went into my total cost.

For those who don't follow me on Facebook. Here are a few more shots of the cage. These show how the amuse bar complements the purple.
