That's whats up! :yum:

Same color I was talking in the meisters both look good.

Those wheels look kickass!

Wiggins3377 03-28-2014 08:22 AM

well i found the air leak. Luckily its not the cup and its just the elbow fitting where the airline connects to the cup. I ordered a replacement and if all goes well this thing should be compeletely done within the next week, which is good cause im making a drive to St. Louis next weekend for my second show of the year.

Ive been contemplating whether or not to hide the compressor under the false floor in the hatch area, however the compressor gets pretty hot when its filling the tank up, does anyone have experience? Does anyone think it will be an issue?

Other pics include the Takata harnesses and tow strap, painted headlights and the TS strut bar. Beside the cup kit not working right I had issues with the fitment of the CFE cooling plate, I think I need to trim alittle around where the latches are, so for now I'm switching it out at shows.

Hopefully this week I'll be able to get the cup kit working right. I'll also be sending a few parts to Mike the Powdercoater to get a color update.

Forum member "Mike" or Mike the Powdercoater finished my lugs and rear strut bar today! I have nothing but the best to say about his service and work. I'll be sending my air tank to him next week.

Im sure alot of you follow sites like stance nation, stance works and canibeat, but i wanted to give you all a heads up on these guys. Right now they are local to the Cincinnati area, but they'll be doing a rebranding and branching out in the future. I've had the pleasure to become very close with many of their editors and photographers and they are all gear heads like you and me. Check them out if you have a chance. Here's a link:

Purple theme on the Z is killer man, and great additions.

I find aftermarket seats, especially ones like you have really set cars apart in a big way! Excellent as always.

Thanks. Im not contemplating what to do with my air tank and air compressor. Part of me wants to get the air tank powdercoated in the same purple and have the compressor done in a satin black, but I think it may be to much purple if i go that route. Another option would be to send the air tank to CFE and have it wrapped by them, then have the compressor done in purple. Anyone want to provide their two cents? It'll be easier to decide once I have the strut bar in the car and once I finally get my TS rear brace bar cover (hopefully within the week). If anyone is good with photoshop let me know cause i could use your services to help decide, else im just going to post it on the photoshop thread on the forum.

Mr&Mrs 04-03-2014 10:10 AM

I like the CF idea!

speedfreek 04-03-2014 10:16 AM

I think it will be too much purple. CF idea gets my vote. Another Idea is what about a Bronze air tank to tie in the wheel goodness!

I just wish I would have picked up the carbon fiber backed brides... It would have pulled it all together.

I like them alot as well, im hoping the puple compliments their backing.

Im leaning towards bronze or CF on the tank.

Damn. Wish my fat boy *** could fit in those Venus editions or else I would pick up a set of carbon back Stradia II and trade you. :shakes head:

What about going with a 40th gray for the tank? It'll make it blend into the car a little bit better (not sure if that's the look you want though).

TheGreatOne 04-05-2014 11:01 PM

40th grey like mentioned above or CF wrapped would be amazing for the tank I think.

If you are thinking about carbon on the tank, why not try hydro-dipping it? I haven't had experience with it but from the looks of it, it will look a lot smoother and it will be not peel. Just a suggestion.

:iagree: I think the dip would look good

I am considering doing a CF dip on my door handles

For the tank why not get real carbon fiber that is flexible and wrap it around it, held in with rubber clamps or 3m adhesive spray??? U can pit the seam on the bottom and you will never know its a wrap vs mold and look amazing:tup:

Is that the front adjustable camber arm? Did you get the ones for the rear camber too? I'm sitting pretty low on coilovers and I want to get adjustable camber arms for front and rear so I can return to stock alignment. How hard is this install? Any particular brand?

I actually decided just to paint it matte black and add a few decals to make it look a little different. Its still a work in progress, but I'll post pics once its done.

Yeah the fronts are adjustable and I have the rear SPL adjustable camber arms. I would have gone with SPL up front as well, but $700+ seemed a little too much for me.

Its been awhile since I've updated this thread, mostly since I haven't done much to the Z in the last few weeks, but here's a brief update....

I installed my front adjustables without any problem, however at the same time I was trying to lower my front coils to get a better stance and in the process broke the OEM end link (couldnt believe it). I had a scare there for a little bit and literally called every Nissan dealer within an hour drive to try to find one as I had two car shows the following weekend. Thankfully Z Speed performance is about an hour drive from me and Joe had one in stock, so I was able to replace it within 24 hours. Ultimately I ended up keeping my front stance the same as I didn't want to put a ton of pressure on the end links, but now I'm wondering how low I can actually get with the OEM end links, adjustable end links are an option, but i know I've seen people with bagged Zs or Gs lay their car on the ground with the OEM end links and I'm not going that low. Anyone have any advice?

Ive also been thinking about what direction I want to go in with the interior. Although at some point I want to update my steering wheel, I've been heavily considering going with a weld in half or full cage. Although I'd love to keep it JDM and go with the HPI cage the cost and wait would be killer, so I'm meeting with a local performance shop today to get a quote. Hopefully I can get them to give me a decent price and if so I think I'll pull the trigger. I sold my TS brace bar cover and plan on selling the GT Spec bar so that will at least help fund the project.

I've also been having alot of trouble with the Works I have on order. Mostly my own trouble. Mark at RavSpec has been beyond awesome during this whole process, but recently i was debating whether or not to change the barrel color from the glossy bronze I originally ordered to matte bronze. Mark was more than willing to process the order, but I would have to wait another 2-3 months... yikes!! I decided to keep my original order and the wheels should be here in the next couple of weeks!!! Although I really like the look of the gold Advans I can wait for my VSXXs.

Finally, a show update. I had two shows last weekend, one local and an Import Faceoff. The local show was catered to classics and euro cars, but I ended up walking away with best import... not to bad. Import Faceoff was great, it was my second one in the past month (first one was in St. Louis) and this one was huge in comparison. A lot of great (and not so great) cars and people and some drag racing, cant beat that. I walked away with best Nissan which was great, but even better I meet some really great forum members in person. All great guys they love the Z platform and have no issues talking for hours about their cars. I'll be meeting up with them again soon and cant wait. Thanks Rid3_FaM0uS (check out his wire tuck DIY, OMG) and Kukpet (great looking Nismo).

Here are a few pics from Import Faceoff:

Gotta keep that, but should that time come you'll be the first to know. Well I just got a quote on the half cage and they are offering me an amazing deal through a sponsorship. So in two weeks time I'll have a purple roll cage. I'll be selling the gt spec strut bar if anyone is interested.

I also talked to the place about installing my FI LTH (finally). That may be done at the same time!!!
