....couple shots at the dealer before I picked it up. It was on the showroom floor, and had to wait awhile to get it outside. Had 19.4 miles on it, never been titled and was purchased on 05/25/2011.

First thing I did was get the windows tinted at a place here locally, and that turned out to be a disaster. More on that later.

...then at 5,000 miles I decided to buy it some presents...an Ark Grip version 2 CBE, some Berk HFCs and a K&N Typhoon intake:

Berk HFC installation on 01/28/2012. One thing we had to do to reach the top cat bolt on the driver side in a straight shot was unhook the steering shaft at the bottom so we could kick it to the right a little. I never read where anyone else had to do that so I guess my car is slightly weird. Besides that, all the bolts broke free pretty easy.

...mounted with the O2 sensor reconnected.

ARK Grip 2V2 installation on 01/28/2012.

Have to do a better job of getting things to line up ... I went backwards it seems, tightening from the HFCs back to the tips. Going to try to loosen everything back up, and tighten from the tips back to the HFCs.

...readjusted everything 2/2/2012. This is as good as it gets. A big improvement I think. Having a lift helps a great deal. I had this done at Fast Line Performance in Brandywine, Maryland. The owner is a pretty smart cat who loves his job so the car was in good hands. The easiest thing he did, was a tall stand that had a flat metal bar welded to it horizontally, like a shelf. He loosened the back hangar bolts, and the bolts at the first pipe joint, and then raised the "shelf" with a piece of carpeting on it up to the point that it was holding both cans in the same spot. Then tightened everything back up. Slight bend of the left side rear hangar was necessary, that was done by locking a giant pipe wrench on the hangar, and then sliding a long metal tube over the end of the wrench for leverage, and then carefully easing it to where we wanted it. Only took about 30 minutes. I left a happy camper.

...from a lower angle...looks perfect

...gotta love those burnt tips. Damn the car is filthy though.

K&N Typhoon installed on 01/28/2012...

Stock intakes all removed. Had the MAF sensors all wrapped up pretty good to keep them clean and safe. If I had to do it again, I would remove them entirely and stick them in plastic baggies just to be safer.

...all done with installing. I didn't put the supplied rubber edging around the heat shields yet. Might leave it off, looks kind of stock they way it is. The hood comes no where near touching them, and they don't rattle on anything so not sure what the purpose is of the rubber they supplied. Had to cut a few inches of one off the hoses, passenger side, as it was so long it was kinking a little too much.

My car was like that when I put the HFC on. I should have unbolted the steering shaft but I had already farted around with it for so long that I was determined to do it without. I can be a stubborn SOB sometimes. lol

You have some good parts there, making nice progress! Enjoy!

Thanks ! We had no correct combination of swivels we could come up with to get enough of a grip on the thing to break it loose, so had no choice really but to remove the spline at the bottom of the shaft and move it out of the way. Least I know the car is not crooked or something !

Updated a new comparison photo above after adjusting the ARK today. Lined up way better than it was but still not "perfect". Also verified the stamp date on the flanges are 12/2011 so it is indeed a V2. Not sure if the ding indicated in the other photo added above would be significant enough to cause any issues with getting the thing to line up better. It's way better than it was anyway.

Thanks !

I am not much of a video production guy, but I can try to do something. There are lots of sound and video clips out there already. I listened and watched crap loads of them before I decided on the ARK.

Your car looks good as well ! I think with that diffuser you have the ARK would look pretty cool.

Made an appointment at Hill's Garage in Baltimore on 2/25/2012 to get an UPREV tune, a few dyno runs, and maybe another goodie or two installed if I get them in time. Looking forward to that so I can at least know it is tuned with the stuff bolted on already. Car seems to be running strong, but I am hoping they can make it better. I guess I need to figure out what maps I want.

Hope to get good enough results to post them up.

I just noticed something about the K&N looking at pictures in the install manual. It looks like the plastic thing I circled in the picture using my mad paint skills is supposed to be removed ? What the hell is that thing, and does it hurt anything ? Looks like with it removed the routing of the hose remains unchanged.
