Some updates...

Re move to Florida, I think we've narrowed down our next house options and unfortunately won't be buying the race track neighborhood! lol I did start an official Florida thread on this site, however, so please join and contribute if you're in that part of the US The Official FLORIDA Thread

Did some internet shopping today... bought the stuff below... I'm excited about the tow hook - will save 1.5 pounds on the nose! lol

1 LAR-78295 Digital Caster Camber Gauge w/Dunlop style adapter $251.15
1 LAR-22589 Longacre Coil-Over Wrench (Billet) $37.50
1 LAR-79500 Longacre Toe Plates (Set) Includes (2) Tapes $57.95
1 RPW-2606 Master Switch Decal $2.00
1 RPW-TIE15ORANGE Tie Wraps - 15" Orange Tie Wraps $8.99
1 RPW-TIE4ORANGE Tie Wraps - 4" Orange Tie Wraps $4.99
1 RPW-TIE8ORANGE Tie Wraps - 8" Orange Tie Wraps $6.99
1 SFQ-TRF Tow Ring Fixed 8.25" long $16.50

I'm also thinking about ditching the OEM winshield for SpeedGlass branded Lexan windshield... thoughts on that? which thickness should I order?

Quote:
SpeedGlass is G.E. LEXAN with a propietary coating that is applied to both sides of the window after it has been molded. This coating provides a very thin outer "sheel" that is virtually as hard as glass. Underneath the coating "shell" is "HO"(High Optics) LEXAN polycarbonate, which is very soft and somewhat flexible.

* SpeedGlass is 50% - 75% lighter than glass (depending on thickness) 1/2" the weight per equal thickness
* SpeedGlass is extremely shatterproof
* SpeedGlass has excellent optical clarity
* SpeedGlass windshields and windows are coated on both sides with a very scratch resistant coating
* SpeedGlass windshields and windows are formed to factory curvature of steel bodies
* SpeedGlass windows are approximately 1" oversized in all directions, bigger than factory glass windows

Other Cool Facts
* Highly scratch and Chemical Resistant
* High resistance to pitting or sand blast effect
* Can be cleaned with standard glass cleaner, no extra polishes or cleaners needed
* Excellent water shedding capabilities

Three different variations to suit almost any budget
* Formed SpeedGlass (Best Seller)
* Flat SpeedGlass
* Flat Lexan (Low Cost Alternative to SpeedGlass)

if its legal for your race class, get rid of all the glass....its heavy and high up in the center of gravity.

Chris, nothing... suppose you could put a cheap zip tie on it that would break free when emergency tow situation arises

Top of glass, but not including upper moulding, and to bottom of glass, but not including lower plastic valance that runs along the glass for cosmetics and wiper penetrations = 29 inches clear glass.

Looking for input on a couple things...

1. new employer will provide a leased vehicle - whatever I want... could use it to replace the 2006 f250 with new HD Denali or whatever... or get a fun car - maybe M3 convertible or something like that... any ideas? let me hear what you think!

2. new house may be very close to new employer... in which case I may want to get an electric moped or the like so I can zip over to work quickly... what would you get for a 5 mile trip using sidewalks? how about if it were a 10 mile trip using roads?

Thanks!

Honda CR-Z. <3

lol.

Don't replace the tow truck, because you may end up putting too many miles on it towing your car to tracks on off days, and that is somewhat of a misuse of a company vehicle.
For fun car, BMW is kinda a tool car right now if you are asking me, try something different like an AUDI RS or S model. Audi S5 perhaps?
http://models.audiusa.com/s5-coupe

Sidewalks and roads you could get a Honda Ruckus, goofy little bikes that are huge in the import scene to modify. PasswordJDM carries crap loads of carbon fiber for the Ruckus enthusiast. Not my taste however.
