OK guys another update while I wait for the new casted intake piece...

My friend has a body shop and does alot of crazy widebody turbo'd porsche/bmw/audi's and I'm thinking of taking my front bumper and getting it custom cut to look something like the Zele kit. Now, I have to see what the price difference would be but I'm taking the bumper to him tomorrow to do some mock ups...

Does anyone have any idea's of what might look good, or if there are pieces out there that can perhaps be molded onto the car to have a nice design and still serve the purpose of getting things like the oil cooler, etc etc as much cool air as possible.

Price also has a factor. Might cost the same when its all said and done when its mocked up, drilled, sanded and etc to make it look like the zele. The zele kit also has a carbon fiber piece at the bottom.

Sorry guys, I have been swamped at work. I'm also traveling to China in 2 weeks so I dont yet know how thats going to affect my progress.

But here is where we stand...

From the beginning the only problem (if you would even call it that) was the intake pipe which caused delays to ship in the first place. Well the newly casted pieces are ALOT thicker than the prototype. So basically the p-type is performing better than final version. They are taking the steps needed to completely bore out the inside to reach its intended spec. Its unfortunate, because its one of the things out of their control and ofcoarse someone had to F up.

Thats the gist of it right there...no gimmicks, no secrecy, no 'the car isnt running right', its simply that stupid casted intake piece.

Believe me, Sam is working like mad trying to get this sorted out to overnight me the piece as soon as its available. I have my daily driver so it isnt a problem for me but I am anxious to finish this thing now!

More updates as soon as I get the new piece (within the next week)

I'm not sure what the exact thickness was but I do know its impeeding airflow above 6k RPM. If the ptype piece is used or you run completely open, there are zero issues. So its just a matter of trimming all the fat inside the pipe to get it to the correct diameter. No big deal, but it must be frusterating to Sam since its one of the few pieces that was out of his control...

I'm just glad they quickly identified it....

I'll be honest. I dont give a **** about it looking pretty and casted, I would take the ptype asap. The problem is that its a very complex piece to create by hand each time and would definitly raise the price of the kit had they opted to do that for each unit.

It doesn't feel like so many years have passed, but holy, this was a long time ago!! I never had the strength or the time to ever finish up the video's or updates that I wanted to do. I had a baby + big career changes over the last few years and life has just been wonderfully hectic.

In any event, here's a quick update;

I still have the car, it only has 19k miles on it, it ended up making 467WHP. With that said, I have a cracked downpipe (right side) and otherwise, its loads of fun to drive and its still amazes me how people look at this vehicle in person... 1. because its still a relatively rare site for many people and 2. they always give me props for the way mine was set up.

Since then, I've done few mods, but mainly maintenance. I have to give a HUGE thank you (late I know) to AZP Installs in Kenilworth, NJ for taking care of me a while ago with these items (i'll try to get new pictures up soon);

• Z1 Clutch/Flywheel combo
• Z1 CSC Elimination Kit
• Brake pads all around
• Brake lines
• Brake fluid
• Oil Cooler + oil change during the process
• Custom Naca duct for said oil cooler.

I've been thinking a lot lately about getting rid of it, for either an Exige S260 (cpo) or the new Cayman GT4. I'm not in a rush and I decided to start looking at cars in that segment because I barely get to drive it as is, and when I do, I'd like something even more track oriented, out of the box.

Anyway - this was a trip down memory lane for sure, I hope all the old and new guys are doing well and I'll try to stay a little more active on these forums again!
