It feels great. You get just about an even feel of pressure all the way through now upon applying pressure to the floor. Releasing is even better for you can actully feel the engagement of the clutch.

SPOHN 08-01-2011 08:36 PM

Coming together. Going to Mike's this weekend to have powder coated. He mentioned doing a wrinkled black. That just sounds perfect for me.

Just got back from Mike's this morning from getting my gauge plate powder coated. Look carefully at the wrinkle black he done it in. I love it. Will be starting on the gauge install Monday so stay tuned for final product.

Also I want to give big props to Mike for doing this for me and suggesting the wrinkle black.:tup: I more than highly recommend him for all your powder coating needs.

Nice!

definitionxmk 08-06-2011 04:07 PM

whoa.... impressive! Came out pretty nice!

SPOHN 08-06-2011 06:22 PM

Thanks. I thought so too. It really surprised how simple powder coating is. Glad I got to see it first hand.

SPOHN 08-07-2011 07:23 PM

Today I installed Z1's protective sheathing over my oil cooler lines. This is defiantly worth doing for I was seeing mild rubbing on the crash beam and other very small areas. These things are pretty cool. Just slide over and take a heat gun to them. Then I still will be installing my left over heater hose on the more severe areas. That's me. I go over board.

Plus I got to reroute my oil lines in a more uniform way. Looks much better than before. Plus you shouldn't have to look to closely to see my setup for my oil pressure gauge. I got the sensor installed and some basic wiring. Will have more on that later. At least there was no leaks. Will be working more on tomorrow but not sure I'll get finished being I have another gauge to run with some other small beans in my bag.

any pics of the gauge pod installed in the dash?

SPOHN 08-08-2011 03:43 PM

It will have to be this weekend. I got the gauges ran and running but not installed in the cubby. It's been a busy day so I stopped. Trying to enjoy my last day off. But I'll have it all up soon.

I'm stoked to see the results.

Gauge install complete

http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...emp-gauge.html

Well after a couple of weeks I finally got my Oil Pressure and Water Temp gauge installed. Now I have a peace of mind having a oil pressure gauge and a better accurate water temp gauge. I'd like to give thanks to Forged Performance and Z1 Motorsports for for my parts and suggestion on the install. So nice to have two great shops in one state.

I will have video up tomorrow.

I chose the AEM gauges due to great cost and being a reputable company.

Also you will notice the one off custom cubby hole plate I made. Also had it powder coated in wrinkle black by Mike (THEPOWDERCOATER.COM). Thanks for the suggestion and work.

Oil Pressure Setup

Most might have seen spearfish25 oil pressure setup (http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...ure-gauge.html). First thanks for the great DIY. Made it so easy.

But so far as the mounting of the sensor I went a different route (more expensive though). I bought a Greddy sandwich plate that is stacked on to my already GTM thermostat plate. Even though I got this I still had to purchase a BSPT male to NPT female adapter from Autometer to make them work together ben that the Greddy (Japan are BSPT threads) and AEM ( US are NPT threads). Will see in pics below.

Water Temp Gauge

My DIY
http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...emp-gauge.html

Water temp gauge is pretty cool addition for it's defiantly more accurate than the stock one. I bought it due to I thought it would be more funtion along with having two gauges in the cubby hole giving that overall look.

Looks good Chris!!!

Can you see them OK when you are driving?

SPOHN 08-14-2011 09:21 AM

You can't see the lights in the day like our stock gauges but there still very easy to glance over and read. Mostly for there closer to you than the other gauges and the white numbering make it easy to read.

SPOHN 09-12-2011 03:27 PM

Thanks man. Especially coming from you. Just wish I would of went with better coilovers. At the time I didn't know exactly where I was going and now I do. Might as well beat them as long as I have them.

What's wrong with them? Are they not performing to your expectations?

SPOHN 09-13-2011 05:28 AM

They are great. No complaints at all. But the direaction I will end up in I will need something better for the track. That will probably be some JRZ's due to after riding in a car with some it's amazing how those babies handle.

SPOHN 10-03-2011 06:24 PM

Picked these up for a great deal from a buddy that won these a Z Nationals. Stillen J-Hooked. I have been trying to stock rotors and pads ahead of time just to have. Will be picking up some Carbotech XP 8's soon.

My wing will be here Thursday.

SPOHN 10-03-2011 08:43 PM

Can't wait to use them. Will be awhile though.

SPOHN 10-06-2011 07:00 PM

Got this today. Can't wait to install. I know there's going to be more hate than love with this. But I'll still love you guys reguardless.

This a APR GTC 200 wing. So it's 59 1/2'' wide and 10'' high. So it will be more conservative than most. Not sure of the weight. Total shipping weight was 16lbs and that's a double layer box with two thicker sized booklets in it.

Those rotors and that wing look HAWT! Let's you put them on! J-hooks and Akebonos is what I'm looking to get soon for my car as well!

Mike 10-06-2011 07:45 PM

I think thats as tall as mine!

SPOHN 10-06-2011 07:45 PM

Thanks! I'm itching to. But I need to wear out the ones I got. They only have about 4K miles on them. This gives me more reason to beat up on them.

Hey guys I took some pics of my pics. :icon17: I bought this from HKYStormFront (JPMcG Photography). These were some great shots taken on his part so I had to have them from my track day. These are 5x7's and I going to have them framed. Just thought I'd share them. They look really great in person.
