Damage from the Zdayz trip. 4" diameter chunk of concrete came out from under Eastwest's car and then bashed under mine. It caught the cross brace and the exhaust resonator and heat shield.

Two large sockets, some threaded rod, curse words and 3 voodoo rituals later, it came out and no sawzall needed.

The logo must be something new. Mine and EW doesn't have.

You could have used a 2" hole saw to cut the rubber in the center. didn't show you anything that I taught him?

The middle piece pulled right out in 30 seconds. The outer bushing part broke a couple pieces of threaded rod but came out in one piece, in the end.

Need to put a few coffers into the garage fund after recuperating from the turbo and supporting mods purchases. I would like to buy a rolling jack for the lift so I dont have to engineer a solution for taking the wheels off while on the lift.

LOL yea...

I've been looking at this one: https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-...ump-64241.html
I saw it on sale once, years ago for $159. Probably just bite the bullet soon.

Oh now I see what you mean by rolling lol... that one is just a hair nicer and more convenient than the one I posted. Probably only a hair more expensive, too ;)

Oh I remember those days. Chuck and I did mine in two weekends. One weekend of tear down and mechanical and the second was fuel and electronics. Fired up first time!

Just don’t rush it and double check your work before you move on.

:iagree:

JC and I work in a similar fashion. We are not very fast at doing jobs but they are done correctly before moving on. I have a big to do checklist that I cross items off of. Everything will absolutely get a second and third look over before I feel confident in hitting the starter.

We were completely anal about it. I bet I have nothing short of a hundred zip ties securing stuff, stopping rattles, protecting heat, etc.

The heat shielding and routing of lines is one of my main concerns.

I ran all my pneumatic lines thru thermotec heat sleeve. Worked great.
