I clayed mine today, will start the polishing process tomorrow. Still haven’t figured out what the final coat will be, more than likely it will be a sealant then topped with a carnauba wax
|
When you guys are done. You can come to my place. I got 5 vehicles needing some TLC.

Madwi, You definitely need to be entering your ~Z~ in some car shows

Renting that motor home now has to suck. Wonder if they follow the CDC Covid disinfecting recommendations? |

Busted out the new stuff and laid it out on the bench. Two coats of mohs today and one spritzing of cure tomorrow. Says ideally to not get it wet for 7 days. Bought some new towels as they will be tossed after wiping this stuff off.

Interested on how that comes out.

So the kit comes with 8 felt-microfiber 4x4 squares; I ended up using 5. I have about 1/4 bottle of the mohs left over after giving the car two coats about two hours apart from each other. I still have to wipe on this Skin stuff I guess tomorrow or 12-24 hours after the last coat of mohs. It is suppose to make it shiny(er) and lord knows what else. Here is some pics after the initial two coats. Not sure this was worth the extra money over something like Blackfire or Four Star.

It’ll be worth it if, you don’t have to polish it again for a couple years. :icon17:

Tips if you try Gyeon for yourself. Get a good inspection light and use it before moving on to the next panel. You want to look for dark spots or any missed sealant. Take your time, the stuff isnt going to flash cure on the suede applicator. I did the roof, hatch and partial hood then flipped the suede pad over to a clean side. You dont want the sealant to harden on the suede pad and then scratch your paint. It worked out well doing half the roof, wipe off and then the other half. Hood I broke into 3 sections. Fenders all in one shot and doors had to break down into two sections as it flashed too fast to do the whole door.

Are you
1 Happy with the results 2 extremely happy 3 got a boner 4 wait and see |

I would wait until a nice warm sunny day to do this. It got real humid and started raining when I was almost done and it seemed to affect the working time of the MOHS. It got shorter the more humid it got, just an observation. Then the real test of bringing it out into the light and see what it actually looks like. Probably a bunch of spots I missed that need to be compounded off and start again :icon17: |
Last step went on extremely easy and came off just as well. Very easy to use and you can clearly see where there is product and not. Surface is noticeably slicker no idea about shininess. Can’t get the car wet for 7 days ideally. I blew out all the crevices and wiped em doen but don’t dare move car as the taillights usually hold about 4 gallons of water, somewhere.

A few pictures of final product. I'll get some out in the sunlight when I can, suppose to rain all week.

I like how you put thought into EVERY part. It really shows in the final result.
