They can be very quick when they hook. Spinning is just not fun to me. You need to get in one with 700hp + at the wheel. 600whp is just boring.

:icon17: Absolutely can take you for a spin around the block. Anytime you are in the hood, stop by. I fear spooler is right were it will be a bit lackluster but F it we'll ride.

The issue is what I think is fast is different than yours. I have been driving fast turbo cars for a long long time. The more you drive them, the more you want for that same adrenaline rush. You will get there. Your tolerance/experience will go up just like everyone else. IF someone rides with me they may freak out because of that or they may not. It all depends on what they have been exposed too.

Think what you are trying to say. Once you get used to the power. You want more. Yea........you're a junkie. :rofl2: :driving: In my one TransAm. Went through 4 motors. With each motor. It was more then the one before it. That was an ADDICTION. :shakes head:

Spooler 01-24-2020 06:20 PM

Yeap, that is why they call us Boost Junkies. Turbo cars are way more addictive. It is so easy just to turn up the boost. Our cars pull at the way up top and never stop.

Spooler 01-24-2020 06:22 PM

My first turbo car scared the crap out of me a night back in 1992. It could outrun the headlights. I still have it. My 1975 280z turbo. It is better to start slow and work your way up. That way you don't kill yourself when the car does something stupid.

What's fun is when you're cruising on a rain slick road with a 572 cubic inch motor with 13 to CR in 4th gear. Lift off the gas and have the rear tires lock up from the compression.:eek::eek::eek:

Pulled her out of the garage for the first time since she went into hibernation. I do love staring at her.

It’s been mid 50s all week. We had an inch of snow Monday and that was gone Tuesday.

Slow morning here at work (briefly - it's going to get pretty fast paced soon) so I went back and re-read this entire thread. Really enjoyed it - and had a lot of fun thinking back over my memories from meeting up with Madwi, Rusty, JC Hammond, EW, Zoren, Jar, and FP from Zdayz 2018.

Great thread, A++, would recommend.

Edit: I also met Memphis370z and DePoint5.0

Edit 2: And Spooler and Hotrodz. Probably others. Sorry guys the social distancing is eating my brain.

Sorry Bob! Thanks again for letting me touch your precious! (His Z, not the other precious)

I'm not sure I actually met ZS. If I did, it was just in passing.

Madwi is happy to view your ride from the outside. I have a weaker stomach so maaaaybe we can limit it to a straight line pull if I do go for a ride. :ugh2: :icon17:

Cant argue with that thought!

Picked up a cermic coat kit from Gyeon. Not sure if I am going to like it or not but it was a quarantine impulse buy. I currently have a coat of blackfire paint sealant on and I really like the look it gives. Going to be hard to beat it. Blackfire:

At least you finally got rid of that probably-abandoned black Z that kept hanging out in your garage! Thing was probably a hobo love shack!

The "like" is for the dog, not the car. I've already liked your other car pics enough.

No worries, we need some room to run anyway. You will see if you want a ride. LOL Coming up on traffic so quick is just uncanny and kinda scary. Mountain curvy roads is not the place for said fun.
I do have lots of control on tight roads via the right foot, I just can't give it all the beans.

You mean the one where Madwi stuck a sticker of Hello Kitty getting "JAR-ed" by Gumby in the engine bay where the homeless owner would never see it? :stirthepot:

I do have a vinyl cutter. :ugh2:

madwi 04-03-2020 06:50 PM

First shakedown of the year. Put insurance on it and registered with the state. It was about 63F and sunny, perfect day for a cruise. I had to run to the office for a few minutes so I decided to take the Z.
I was nervous about taking it since installing the coilovers and not having an alignment. Car handled really well and hearing the turbo spool up, made my day.
