Completed my ghetto HD gimmick fitting oil temp sensor install today. Seemed to work reasonably enough. Close enough that I doubt I'll bother tapping the oil pan.

I'm glad it worked for you. I can't take all the credit though, I saw it somewhere else. I don't remember where though.
