You can be as careful as possible and it won't matter one bit to young mayhem who swipes you because she was too busy texting her BFF. That can happen on a sunny warm day anytime.

I got your PM dude, I'll PM you sometime today, they got me busy busy busy...

Sales@AAMComp 03-20-2013 08:24 AM

I think they exaggerate it a bit claiming how all seasons barely out performs summer tires. Do they? Well I agree 100% with first hand experience, but I think them using a RWD car on ice exaggerates it a bit

My civic had performance summer tires, driving home in the snow, total accumulation was about 2-3 by now, and my neighborhood is practically white. My gf at the time driving her RSX had toyo proxes, all season tires.

Long story short, she made it up the hills in my neighborhood, me slipping, sliding and stuck on the bottom of the neighborhood lol not to mention I was getting a little loosey on the highway, and this is all in a honda civic!

eastwest2300 03-20-2013 08:29 AM

Chris, sent you that PM..

I think the gap between all seasons and summers is just as big as all seasons are to winters.

b1adesofcha0s 03-20-2013 09:17 AM

Or as we like to say, driving like a boss!

How many miles and what were your alignment specs? How was the wear front vs. rear?

I checked mine after around 14k of very aggressive driving and I still had a ton of tread left. Granted on the Mustang I was able to rotate every 5k.

eastwest2300 03-20-2013 09:39 AM

You all need to get a set of Nankangs... they last foeva...

m4a1mustang 03-20-2013 09:39 AM

:gtfo2: with that bullshite!

Cristobal09 03-20-2013 09:41 AM

LMAO, Nankang's.

On those cheap wheel websites they give those tires away for free with the wheels.

i put a bit over 13k on them. no rotations.
i had everything aligned - they were in spec even wear... i might have gotten another thousand miles out of them but it was already winter - so i just swapped them out.

Cristobal09 03-20-2013 09:44 AM

Randy, are you going to keep your A/S tires on this summer, or you going to get another set of PSS's?

m4a1mustang 03-20-2013 09:45 AM

That's not that bad, then. Michelin says expect 15k if you can't rotate and 30k if you can.

It's funny how people will spend thousands on suspension parts only to cheap out on tires. Tires are the most critical part of your suspension system. After all, they are the only thing that connects your car to the road.

Ive put 4500mi on my Vredestein US tires and am at 7/32 on the rear. They come with 10/32.

b1adesofcha0s 03-20-2013 10:38 AM

I had like 25-30k on my DWS and still had like 5/32 tread left in the rear and 6-7/32 left in the front. Wonder how long my PSS will last since I'm doing 2-3 HPDE weekends this year.

Less than 10,000 miles.

You probably also want to factor in that your brand new uprev tune is going to cause faster tire wear from increased torque and the occasional wheel spin.

m4a1mustang 03-20-2013 11:13 AM

In b1ades' case, his right rear will wear out faster than his left rear. :stirthepot:

dmhenderson 03-20-2013 11:14 AM

lol
