All of the close calls I have seen in my short 3 years of driving were either a car driver trying to screw over the biker or the car driver being oblivious and entering the bikers lane.

Just to pile on...

I wish I could have owned a Z when I was 19... Instead All I could afford was a 1971 Pinto that my Dad gave me...

You must be born before 1994 to post on this thread...

Now get off my lawn... damn whipper snappers...

Yea and some of them even wear sneakers...

Yeah I love seeing those guys stop the flow of traffic on 495 so they can do wheelies. If they get mowed down by a car not paying attention I won't even bother calling it in. I hate them that much.

My first car was a 1983 Pontiac. 6000LE with cracked hoses that would dump coolant onto the engine block every time I came to a stop. It ruled.

It also constantly overheated and I had to drive around with the heat on in the middle of the summer. I remember my girlfriend having to put her feet on the dash because the heater was literally burning her.

Not sure why you think it was a joke. I was being serious. You'll be surprised in 5 years when you look back and think about how much you've changed since 21.

Like I said... It doesnt matter what medium used to travel, be it bike or car. Many people suck at driving, and they will do so on whatever vehicle they have access to.

After the LTD I had a '77 Rabbit that took on water in heavy rains. I learned this when I heard the water in the rear footwells splashing as I made a sharp turn.

Chicken....

My BMW front wheel came off the ground once accidentally it seems to have a good bit of Torque...

My KTM is a complete hooligan bike. The front wheel is off the ground all the time, just not in traffic...

Z Stig 04-26-2013 12:16 PM

The car I drove in high school was a (unspecified year - don't want the whipper snappers to give me a hard time) Ford LTD Station Wagon with rear facing seats in the back! It was a sleeper. It had a 454 Police Interceptor engine in it!!!! I could pull away from all of my friends in their Camaros and others, but it DID NOT like to turn!

Puke maker seats were the greatest... My other choice for my first car a 69 Plymouth fury station wagon had those. I declined that car because a 71 pinto in 1986 was bad enough...

I remembered something... One time I actually pulled away from a friend in his Comaro (in his defense, it was a V-6) while I was going to cut grass and was towing a lawn mower on a trailer. :owned:

We called ours that... It did not hurt that it was green and brown.

Dad lowered the gear ratio for towing the camper and put in a bigger fan on the front of the motor (yes people back then they bolted the fan to the front of the motor).

It was insanely fast up to 75 and because of the fan you could suck a beetle through the grill...
