If I ordered, I could get in one for 60k and be perfectly content.

So... does anyone know how NACA ducts work? I'm pretty sure what I'm going to receive are the two carbon ducts and nothing else. I would assume they connect to something?

What extra hardware do I need?

Like I said pages ago. You can probably get all of the ducting hoses and clamps and random ***** at home depot or lowes. Not like youll be able to see any of it though so that's the good thing.

dmhenderson 04-26-2013 08:08 PM

So say I were to drop this off to a really solid body shop (D&V), they would be able to install them?

I talked to Rusty who is the only other person I know on the forums that has them and he said I need this kit:

STILLEN 370Z Brake Cooling Kit | STILLEN

But that seems like a lot since I'm not even going to use half of it. Also another $200 kinda sucks on top of the rest of this.

Yep hes right. Unless this shop can fabricate something up for you. If its going to a good shop it really shouldn't be that hard really.

dmhenderson 04-26-2013 08:33 PM

Just bought the kit. Less headache.

it actually has nothing to do with Dee. But the fact that he gets worked up about it makes it a bit more funny to me and the few in the know...

I didn't want to drill my bumper and I'm about to have giant holes cut in it on purpose http://www.the370z.com/members/dmhen...06-mistake.gif

why don't you take the fang vents out??? or do you have a Nismo?

EDIT...
Doh... Nismo...

dmhenderson 04-26-2013 09:31 PM

Yeah this little project has gone up in price quite a bit. Another $250 for the stillen backing kit and hoses and now the body shop is going to have to modify the adapters I send them to make the 4" duct mate to the 2" stillen hoses.

hooray

Fanboi voice: if the brakes needed better cooling, Nissan would have addressed it by now :B

But fo srs, yes, the brakes need venting if one is to really wring the car out on a race track. Hell, the 370z race cars have vents and the best fluid out there and still boil the fluid

dmhenderson 04-27-2013 08:02 AM

Short answer: I really like the look of the front fascia of the RC but I'm not going to just stick non-functional ducts on the car.
Plus they're unique and something you will very rarely ever see on a non-RC car which is a plus at shows.

I guess you're right about that... hopefully no one will ever ask you, "do you track your car?" It would make for an odd conversation..:ugh2:

they do look pretty cool though.

dmhenderson 04-27-2013 08:32 AM

I very likely will if this spray on clear-bra stuff pans out.

eastwest2300 04-27-2013 08:38 AM

I like the sound of that.. spray on clear bra. very very nice.
