Its not ideal. That being said, it's not uncommon, and many people don't have an issue.

New tires issue

Mismatching Front and Rear tires

Hey Mike!

I'm very curious to know who you registered with to get the invite for the COTA event with Nismo Performance. I registered with Nissan when I purchased the car, but I haven't received anything regarding that event - there were guys posting that said they registered with Nissan about 2 weeks ago specifically to get this invite. I am

Actually, wet weather performance can be severely affected if the tread patterns are significantly different front to back, and that can potentially have a big impact for a DD

I had OEM fronts and Nitto Invo rears for about 6 months, and the only problem I ever had was in wet weather. However, I'm pretty sure that's cause my rears were at 2/32 and the fronts were about 3/32 and I was trying to brake hard But going forward, I plan on always matching tires, even if I'm only purchasing rears. Since I go through 2 sets of rears for every front set, I will have the chance to change tires about once a year

I guess it matter less with "truck" tires.
and if you get similar tires you are fine... tread wear is going to impact you a lot more... now if you have summers in the front and winters in the rear. yea, you are going to possibly run into issues..

but again, it's not like she drives hard.. I know you have seen how she drives.. like a fucking grandmother... lol

Nope, I'm a shitty driver as it is. I have good PSS on the rears but my fronts need to be replaced. Money is tight since the spouse hasn't gotten a paycheck from his new job.

it's not recommended since you dd the car in the rain and rain traction will be very different between different tread patterns & compound, especially on a colder day... if you drive only dry, then you can do it usually with not much side effects as long as one breaks in the tires and is only driven casually.

having sticky tires in the rear is fine. i think in your case it's do-able if money is tight. just dont get super crappy tires and try to take corners too fast. you will most likely understeer and plow into a tree or light post or mailbox or dumbarse cyclist or even a prius
