I see what you mean, but that's not exactly what I meant. She absolutely needs to make an effort as well. What I've learned is that the guy needs to take the initiative, early on. I mean the exact opposite of being a someone's bitch, not that I even think in those terms. The guy has to take control, but you can't look at it as some kind of battle where one side wins. I've tried that in the past and have come to realize its meaningless bs. It's trivial and petty....it's game. It will get you laid, but it's worthless if you want to start a relationship.
