The New "What did you do with your Z today" (with off topic replies) II

Hi Guys!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

After getting through some chores, I washed the Z and then started modifying my EVO R black Z badges. The badges look great but came with a cheesy fake carbon fiber backing plate that are necessary to hide the mounting alignment nubs used for the stock badges.

Here's what I did:

I peeled off the old backing plates (just cardboard) and saved them to use as templates for cutting my new ones. I then took two of those red plastic disposable plates and primed and painted them to match my car. I just finished clearing them.

After I let them "gas out" (allowing the chemicals in the lacquer paint to work their way out), I'll cover them in clear bra and then cut them from my templates. After that, it's just a matter of removing the hamburger factory badges and mounting the new ones.

Super easy to do, and they will look great.

JAR - since we have the same color car, let me know when you get your badges, and I'll make you a set.

Really nothing to take pictures of - I painted a couple of plastic plates, will cut a couple of round shapes out and then tape them to the badges.

I don't name my cars. With the Z(L1) I find it hard to call it by a womans name seeing that it is soo masculine. Don't think I can call it a guys name sounds a bit on the

side LOL. Guess it is Back N' Black. Back cause it is a Chevy and I have owned Camaro's before and black well that is obvious. Also I owned a black Camaro so it goes well.

i have a history w camaros too....68, hurst speed shifter. Fat wide tires, lots of power... boyfriend...friday night...inexperienced driver (me) red light/green light....frustration w clutch speed shifter. Smoke. Smell of burnt rubber. 1/2 block later...seconds pass....let off it let off it.....

sigh...yep-fun. Wonder if he remembers it the same way

How about just "Bad A55"? Substitute an "S" for both "5's".

With the Z(L1) I find it hard to call it by a womans name seeing that it is soo masculine. Don't think I can call it a guys name sounds a bit on the side LOL. Guess it is Back N' Black.
