That's when you need to be good at close combat knife tactics.

So first as other said take your time, you hit paper and you are alive. Not bad results for first time. Practice and take some classes.

For the rifle.. learn to use the sling for support. You will always be glad you did.

Talking

A good easy shoulder exercise is to take a 5 lb dumb bell in each hand. Start by holding them straight down. Swing straight out level with your shoulders with out bending your elbows. And hold for for a count of ten. Repeat 10 tens. As you get stronger. Hold longer, and a higher rep.

For the wrists. Get a piece of pipe long enough that you can with both hands. Tie about 4ft length of string to it. On the other end of the string. Tie a 1 lb weight to it. Hold the pipe straight from you shoulders. On twist the pipe to pull the weight up. Once to the top. Untwist the pipe to lower the weight. Repeat 10 time. Once you get stronger. Increase the weight and number of times.

Interesting article but your link is broken. Try this: http://www.luckygunner.com/lounge/ho...a-rifle-sling/

I'll have to try this. I have slings on several of my guns but have only used them for carrying. Thanks.

My friend's Ruger 557 that I was using didn't have a sling.

Yeah I gotta check this out. But I'm still trying to decide on which ******* AR to get for around $700 +/- $50

Sorry for broken link , I was taught using slings as part of getting a stable "shooting platform" when young (yes I was young once). It was part of marksmanship training at schools rifle club, taught by aftc instructor. Took son to Appleseed event , they teach same technique same reasons. https://appleseedinfo.org/programs/
Spend a weekend you will shoot better.

Pistol I was taught single hand bullseye, only much later did I try tactical stances.
