At 24.5gr it's a hair lower than the AA at 24gr. So it's a compress ever so lightly. But after testing I think I'm gonna use 24.1gr and hope for 2800 flat.
I've got a rather silly question: Why would you want to load to max velocity? I would think that the 'name of the game' is to find out what load is the most accurate (bullet, powder, case, primer) for the weapon you are shooting. Some weapons prefer heavier bullets, some need the lighter ones because of rifling twist, others don't like certain powder/primer combos.

I've been reloading for about 30 years now, and yeah, it's a pain in the backside to build small lots of ammo to test powder/primer/bullet combos. For example, my favorite load for my mini-14 doesn't work as well in a 5.56 AR platform gun, even with the same rifling twist. The mini will shoot 1" to 2" groups at 250 yards, the AR platform gun shoots 4-5" groups at that range with the same ammo. But for what I build ammo for, I'm good with that. I look for retained energy at the range I expect to use a weapon at and build ammo accordingly. Just my take on the subject.

Not silly. I would want that because the load manual says I can load that. I have no idea what setup would be the most accurate so I'd want to test basically a low, medium and high charge and after maybe some in between. Since I physically can't do a high charge (no idea how hornady can and I can't) I have to back it all down. These rounds will be used out to 600+ yards so I'd like as much speed as possible. The heavy 75gr bullet will help but I'm trying to get it all. I've only been loading 2-3 years so it's all trial and error. I'm stuck on primers since I have like 5000 and powder goes Awall for 6 months and I can't get what I like. Luckily my gun likes Xtac green tip and I'm up to over 1000 rounds. These rounds for the wife's gun and going long range and still being sorted out. Again I'm stuck with my primers and I like the hornady match 75's so powders still being sorted now. Fingers crossed, others have loved a hornady bthp 75gr with RL15 at 24gr, so I hope we both do too.

This one doesn't go in the Z too often, but she's not a safe queen either. Since you can't buy these outright (outside of military or law enforcement) I had to buy most of the parts and build it myself (following the letter of the law, including all my SBR paperwork). Usually, HK UMPs are .45, but I converted it down to 9mm so that I could use my suppressor on it as well.

Good times. Trust me.

Very nice.
Especially in 9mm.
9mm UMPs are rare indeed so finding the parts and building one is awesome.

I have an USC and have been debating on converting it and SBR'ing it.

It looks like it says UMP on the receiver.
Did you re-engrave the receiver because it looks like an USC receiver.

G36 is nice too!

How did you get around the 1986 FOPA? Class 3 dealer?
Even if your G36 was converted to semi-auto only it will still be classified as a machine gun.
Is it a clone and not a real G36?

Don't mind me, just curious.

Yep. Started as a USC, and then had it re-engraved when I SBR'd the frame. In addition to the mods on the USC frame (cutout vents, sights, etc.) it has a UMP pistol grip that has been brought to spec with 922r compliance and a stock block to connect the UMP stock. 9mm barrel, bolt group, extractors, etc. There are a few other mods as well. PM me if you have questions. I would HIGHLY recommend going this route with your USC. Completely changes the firearm to what it was meant to be.

G36 was converted from an HK SL8 (so yes: clone). Had the rear cut off and an original G36 stock block plastic welded on. G36 Grip (converted for compliance and is totally non-auto, despite the markings). Forearm and other G36 hardware/barrel added. SBR'd and Re-engraved. I actually have all three barrel lengths for it that I can switch out G36E, G36K, and G36C (pictured).

I never knew how much I enjoyed gunsmithing and building until I got hooked on these guns and learned that the only way that I would ever own one was if I built it myself. Not trying to brag (too much), but my safes are pretty ridiculous these days with the hardware inside.

To paraphrase a quote from Professor X: "I feel a great swell of pity for anyone who comes to this [house] looking for trouble."

Send me a PM if you want to learn more about the process. I know a lot of good people who can help you gather the parts and do the custom work along the way.

Never wanted the standard UMP stock.

And PS I thought I was anal and loading and sorting.

The red thing on the caliber is how you measure the bullet ogive.

If you are compressing your loads to get the AOL, and deforming the bullet tip. You GOT PROBLEMS! I would switch to a faster burning powder that took less to get the velocity you want. Are you using bullets with a cannelure or smooth sided? Also, I gave up on compressed loads. Not worth the trouble. Especially if you are shooting with a semi-auto. Alot of times, the bullet will move out of the case with it being slammed into position by the bolt.

Long time ago. I ran into the same problem you have now with AOL. Found out if I sort through the bullets and group them. I eliminated the problem.

Hornadys are smooth wall. I've always tested a few at home ejecting the rounds to see if there's any movement and i test again at the range. I'll fire a round off, pull the next round and measure. So far it's been all good. My die seems to do a great job making the neck tight.

Ok after I test these 3 sets of charges with RL15 ill measure all the bullets and sort them before mass production. Then Im guessing I'll have to adjust the die to achieve 2.250 OAL for each set of bullets? Obviously it wouldn't be good to adjust longer rounds as that increase pressures by pushing the bullet down in further?

Have some batches with less then 100 bullets, and one with over 300 bullets. So I will reload with each batch.

Needed a better summer CCW. The sig sp2022 was just to big with my small frame and a tee shirt. I didn't want a S&W but I shot the best with it! Came with a 7 and 8 round mag. Time for a holster now.

I miss my Glock mod.#20, 10mm/ got it in 1992,,,everybody else had a 45 & i wanted something different...I was mid 20's then;so the recoil was ok...i liked the 175 Winchester silver tips 175gr.1300fps,,,could get rather expensive going shooting on aregular basis.
was married, got in a bind & sold it to a friend...tried to buy it back about 2 month's later & he had already traded it.
next one will be a 9 or .40(10mm short) don't want that much recoil.
You guy's have a Great Sunday!

The 10mm is making a come back. When it first came out. There was only 2 pistols chambered for it. The Bren Ten, and the Colt Delta Elite. I wanted the Colt, buy couldn't afford to buy it at the time. Think now there is about 6~7 pistols chambered for it.
