Well, the brake really helps on the VZ. Pretty loud, though.

Like too see the groups when the barrel is broken in and dirty. :D They should tighten up more. Wonder what it will do with this?

we're in the process of trying to find the 'right' bullet for this particular gun haha , we'll look into it! :D

The G1 BC is .818. So it should be supersonic way past 1500m's with the right powder. :D If I get a 338LM. That's what I'm going to start with. :D

Also thinking about putting together a 22-250 IMP, with a 1-7 twist barrel. So that I can shoot these. These would be supersonic out to 1000m's or so. I've seen a few rifles like this print groups at 500m's at you could cover with a dime.

This **** is retarded. Seriously. The last time there was a scare the only thing it did was serve to better arm the entire country. They're at it again. It won't get banned. They're just creating hype. I don't know who is benefitting from this nonsense but the ammo dealers are certainly making a killing. Glad I don't use this round anymore. The hype has really gotten out of control.

What's the total you have into that? Pretty damn affordable 338 right?

in terms of Barrett yea but with the same accuracy yes, the gun itself was $1,550 ( with the H & S precision stock)... the scope is a Vortex PST 6x30x50 tactical Scope with MOA redial ( $1,100 ) so in total so far, total investment is around $2,600 plan to add a bipod as well.

and like I said before......

$2,600 vs $9-10k Barrett, minus a scope for it.... but with the same accuracy as the Barrett and ALOT lighter

the Savage 110 FCP 338 Lapua Magnum is a bargain

370zseth 02-17-2015 04:09 PM

Price of ammo any more makes it almost impossible outside of work.

If you reload for it. You're have a hard time. It like to bugle the case, as it's unsupported at the head. The wife's pistol, I can't because it's too bad. Even sent the pistol back to S&W. They said it was ok. If you're using P+'s. Watch the heads on the brass. This is only for the 9mm.

The place for parts for it.

I ordered 20lbs of powder last May. So far I only have gotten 10lbs of that order. 2- one lb cans Reloader22, and 4350, and 1-8lb can of ARComp. Still waiting on 8lbs of TAC, and 2 lbs of something that I now forgotten. :shakes head::shakes head: And the price has gone up since I ordered it. :shakes head:

Wait for this next scare to blow over. Give it another 2-3 months afterward and you should see your powder. I'm about to finally kick off my reloading adventure. Got 5,000 pieces of 5.56 brass that need cut and sized for .300 blackout. Got my work cut out for me. But going all 220gr subs. ;) Now waiting for my next tax stamp to come in.

What powder? I like AA2230 for my Hornady 68gr BTHP's. Probably can't use that on a 300BK though.

Free courtesy of four years of weapons training/qualification in the Navy. And that's just what I could grab and carry a couple of pockets full at a time. I wasn't the only one that collected brass either so I had to share. Also have 200 some odd cases of .50 to reload.

ARComp or TAC are great powders for the .223. That's why I bought 8lbs each. I'm shooting the Sierra 69gr Match or the 75gr Hornady Match out of my AR15. Also both powders will work with the .308 AR's.

My SOCOM II- sold the EOTech, debating on putting a 1-6x scope. Kimber TLE/ RL II 1911- friend of the family is a tattoo artist and asked him to make me some grips.

I know I'm not suppose to get political on here but its firearms related . No discussion needed.
I got this from military arms channel aka MAC from a Facebook post.

How do you like that Kimber? Been debating on a 1911 for years. I'd love a Wilson Combat. But I can get a Springfield or Kimber, plus two optics and some other accessories before I hit the price of a Wilson. :ugh2:

1911 is good. I shot many both off the shelf and custom. Kimber makes a good gun. So does Colt if you get the gold. S&W are nice too. Of the customs I recommend Clarke or Baer

that TAC was impossible after sandy hook so i tried a few and i really like the AA2230. ive used the 75gr hornady also but my gun likes the 68's. no idea why i do it though, the guns only a 10" so even shooting green tip i cant pass through crap. at 100yrds though its good enough.

It took since last May to get ARComp. Since May, haven't heard a word on the TAC. What's the twist in your barrel? Mines an 8.

Before this becomes a debate about Kimbers, not saying it is just before. I had a Springfield XDM 3.8 9mm loved the gun! went to the range and somehow got a double primer or powder and it blew the grip and the chamber to hell. I told myself never again and that's why I went with Kimber, steel frame. Springfield is aluminum.
