Agreed, I have two sets of body armor leftover from back in the day. It is always good to be prepared!

IKR!

I don’t know about you guys but in self defense situations I was told you better have the bigger stick and know how to use it. AND, just because some one doesn’t have a gun doesn’t mean they’re not dangerous.

Let me hit you in the head with a skate board. I bet I can spill your brains out. Anything in your hand can be a lethal weapon. Let me stab you in the chest with a ball point pen.

Most state laws state that if a person uses an object that can cause significant injury or death, you justified in using deadly force.

Well I am to old to care. You come at me with the intent to cause me harm in that way, well the outcome for the attacker may be fatal.

Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6!

AND he has his booger hook on the bang switch.... :shakes head::shakes head::shakes head:

Not to mention that with no sights, that rifle won't be very accurate.... :ugh2:

JARblue 11-16-2021 09:39 AM

Was there an armorer present that handed him the gun after all the proper safety checks?

That's what I was referring to when I said it was still cringe.

There are theories out there saying that he did that on purpose trying to get a response out of the defense. Remember the prosecution was making a big deal out of Rittenhouse pointing his gun at people. Imagine this, the defense objects and the Little Dinger says something like I'm just doing what your client did the night in question. I wouldn't be surprised if that was his goal but I'm definitely not ruling out that he is a moron.

Yes and there was a armor present at the set of Rust when Alec Baldwin killed a person. Even though the rifle was safety check, Little Binger broke the cardinal rules of gun handling. Especially when he put his finger on the trigger. That's how tragedies, like what happened on the set of Rust, occur.

BTW I'm surprised that the armorer didn't lock back the bolt. I would have.

The number one rule of firearms...don't point you gun at anything you don't want to kill!

And if you do, the target should have half a heartbeat left to live. No mindless ranting, no waving the gun about. If the sidearm clears leather, align the sights and send rounds downrange.

Shoot to stop the threat and in the words of Ivan Drago; "If he dies. He dies."

BTW speaking of shooting to stop the threat, I like how Rittenhouse handled Little Binger trying to get him to say he intended to kill those guys.

LMAO, My father-in-law and his wife were at my house visiting while I was away. He is a Vietnam vet and has been to Front Site for their security training and what not. Well he asked my wife if I had left her any protection and she said yes, the gun is in the nightstand next to the bed. So he asked her if she knew how to handle the gun and she yes point it at the target and pull the trigger. He then gave her general instructions. When I returned the gun was in its place but there was no round in the chamber. So when he saw me he asked me a couple of questions. Do I keep my gun loaded and why don't I have a double stack magazine. I did skip a beat and said why wouldn't keep a round in the chamber, I don't play TV and warn you that I have a gun by sliding the rack. They just get two in the chest and one in the head. As for the single stack it just the one I have loaded with hollow points. If the gun fight last longer than ten rounds, I have time to get to my AR. I also let him know that I had three other magazines that are double stacked and ready to go.

If I am using a weapon for self protection, it is always locked loaded. It was that way when I had kids and I thought them about gun safety before they had a chance to be curious about guns. They were just part of our life which came with rules and discipline.

Very much a rumor considering the source but it does make sense considering the jury wanting to go over evidence again.

I’m not feeling good about this. Fortunately I think the judge will step in if the jury come back with a conviction.

Those who say having a round is dangerous need to be better trained. I really wish the IDF didn’t teach empty chamber. The amount of people that say “well the IDF carries empty chamber” :shakes head:

Speaking of training, I don’t have kids but I do have young nephews and nieces. Every chance I get I train them on firearms. The oldest 2 (9, 7 years old) have a standing invitation to ask to look at my guns, supervised of course, and every time we go over safe gun handling and how to properly clear the weapons we are looking at. When they get older/bigger they’ll get to shoot them. Right now the thing I’m drilling into all their heads is when they come across a gun not in the control of an adult, to run away, tell an adult and tell their parents.

When I was trained by the DoD. Always have a round chambered. You don't have time to rack a slide. If you have to rack a slide, you're dead. When they sent me to eastern Europe during the cold war. It was necessary.

When we went to the Gulf for Desert Shield, we were supposed to have mag in and empty chamber. I learned under Col Jeff Cooper at Gunsite, if your sidearm wasn't in Condition 1 (round in the chamber, safety on) you were doing pushups. :rofl2:

We had a lot of 'zeros' that thought they knew how to clear a weapon. It's real simple, drop the mag, lock the slide to the rear, inspect the chamber, let the slide go home, point the muzzle at the clearing barrel and pull the trigger. Reinsert the magazine, chamber a round and place pistol back in holster. Easy peasy. Well, this one Major decided he didn't have to drop the mag. He cycled the slide, aimed at the clearing barrel and pulled the trigger. When his pistol went off, it startled him so bad, he shot the clearing barrel again. :shakes head:

He got nicknamed 'Captain Quick Draw'....

Idiot shouldn't have a firearm to begin with. Just be armed with a pencil. Better yet. Let him use a crayon.

I think this trial red pulled a lot of people. People got to see that the media and the DAs were blatantly lying and manipulating evidence.

Most important thing is that Kyle won but this was also a victory for self defense and 2A. However the next thing that needs to happen is an investigation into the prosecution. They shouldn’t be allowed to get away with withholding/modifying
evidence like they did.

Spooler 11-19-2021 12:57 PM

I just watched the verdict being read in court with Kyle standing. That was heart wrenching for such a young man to have to endure.

With Sandman settlement and now Rittenhouse being acquitted, Rittenhouse has a good chance but I’m not sure how successful he’ll be though.

I'd like to see him sue and prevail, but unfortunately, the prosecution won't be held accountable for their shenanigans. They are out for our firearms, by hook or by crook. :shakes head:

I was talking about the media and Biden. The only way to stop the misinformation is to hurt the pocket book. That's the problem. So many people think they can say and do whatever they want and not be held accountable. This needs to stop.
