Cheytac, Barrett, and Desert Tech are the only ones I would be willing to spend top dollar on at the moment.

Rusty 08-08-2016 11:46 PM

Shooting a CheyTac. You better be a lottery winner. :icon17: $142.00 for 20 rounds. If you don't reload, you'll be broke first time at the range. :icon17: Box of unprimed brass is $56.00 for 20. :shakes head:

Friend of a friend showed me an invoice for 10x 100 round boxes of CheyTac ammo ... I think it was over $5K IIRC

Unfortunately, the gun was at his cabin :(

If you want it faster, you might have to make a trip to the sheriff and give him some 'under the desk' action.... :stirthepot:

Does anyone here own a Ruger LC9s model 3250 or 3251?
Compact 9 with integrated laser.

UNKNOWN_370 08-12-2016 03:10 PM

OK guys.... I just took a deal I couldn't refuse. But now I need your help.

Anyone here familiar with PSA? PSA was selling a blemished full lower with Magpul STR stock & furniture for $189 w/ blemish. Not an issue. I could live with a small blemish. A big blemish I can get crazy on cerakote. Not an issue. Deal was too good to be true for completely MIL spec.

Now I'm figuring getting a PSA upper. I just want to know if any of you know which uppers fit this lower the tightest.

I'm looking for anything MIL spec with a full auto bolt 16" barrel and 1:7rh twist. That'll fit well.

Thanks in advanced.

On a related note: One of my referrals is on vacation. So I'm waiting at least another week. At least I found a range that let me play with all the guns I was considering. Fell in further love with the 226

Rusty 08-21-2016 08:11 PM

Did you make copies of the paperwork you needed? If not.........shame on you. If you had copies. You wouldn't have to wait on someone on vacation.

I read some place that this is a common occurrence in that part of the country. It's an attempt to 'control' who gets to buy a gun. They 'lose' the paperwork multiple times, hoping you give up. :gtfo2:

UNKNOWN_370 08-22-2016 03:34 PM

Geez, no advice huh? It's kool. I can figure it out.

I decided to go with a free floated PSA UPPER and see how that works out. Hoping it's a tight fit and now searching for an optic. I have a Sig M400 and I built an AR a few years ago, but have been sidetracked with other things. Anyway I'll see how this psa upper works out. I've no experience with them but hear good things...
My lower arrives Wednesday, if it's marred badly I decided I'd cerakote the rifle foliage green and black.

My next AR will be .300aac blackout.
Considering the Sig MCX but it didn't do so well in the torture test. Gunk stops it. But I like the weight and feel.

Since I don't know anything about either one, I wasn't gonna comment. :ugh2:

I've got a 300AAC Blackout upper that hooks up to my 6.8 SPC lower. Both upper and complete rifle were custom builds, but I'll be dipped if I know off the top of my head who makes all the parts.... :eekdance:

My friend's mother works the records department at the local PD and she just told me to get the letters from them and bring them directly to her. She'll hand them to the detectives directly

OK so my lower came in. It was the blemished model for $189. I can't find or perceive a blemish on this lower. The only thing I can think of is the insignia stamp is not as deep as the other markings? It came with Magpul STR stock, Magpul MOE grip and Magpul polymer enhanced trigger guard.castle nut is properly staked, MIL spec buffer tube and heavy recoil buffer. I feel like I stole it !!! Best Buy EVER. I think I'll be building my AR's exclusively through PSA. The price can't be beat. I'll be buying a lower a month until KILLARY brings back the Brady law.

Till then.... I leave you guys with this....

After doing a lot of research about nitrided barrels vs chf, barrels. I decided to take the plunge and go for what I felt was an amazing deal. My barrel won't be MPI'd & HPT'd. But it is 4150 cmv that has been nitrided. I observed torture/accuracy tests and the gun failed excellent. Plus I think getting a mid-length gas system and Magpul free float barrel shroud for $236 delivered was a great deal. Everything on the rifle is M4 standards except for the melonite barrel and only because of the lack of pressure testing my the govt inspectors. But it is tested by psa before being shipped to you.

I'm about to order a full MIL spec nitrided bcg + charging handle. I will Teflon bake the inside of the upper myself if it hasn't been done yet. That should aid in smooth shooting with a well oiled nitrided bcg. My trigger has no travel whatsoever and breaks crisp. I'm going to polish the stock trigger. This will be coupled with a 2X green/red dot scope.

This build will cost me a grand total of $600 with 2 lancer hybrid warfighter mags. This was a great build considering the times and the scarcity of good AR's for relatively cheap

The major companies are forcing g the budget conscious into buying junk. S&W no longer nitrides the barrels anymore and has gone from 1:8 twist to 1:9 twist, lessening long range accuracy of the 16" barrel. When asked how to they treat the barrel. S&W said, it's a new trade secret. I call bs on Smith... why can't the just put the right twist rate.... ??? 1:7 belongs on 16", 1:8belongs on 18" and 1:9 belongs on 20" barrels.

The industry is going to ****. In 2010, what I just built was a $700 rifle. $900 if it was magpuled out. Now it's a $1,200+ rifle before Magpul. DANG politicians...

I'm just glad someone is doing MIL spec cheap. It's not corporations doing it either. Douchebags.

Rusty 08-27-2016 08:59 PM

You match bullet weights to barrel twist. Not length. 1-7 takes bullets over 77grs. 1-8 takes bullets from 69 grs to 77grs. 1-9 takes bullets lighter than 69grs. Try shooting a 50 grs varmint bullet through a 1-7. You will spin the jacket right off the bullet core. Been there, done that. :rofl2:

That's the response when you fire off a S&W 460. Still to date the most powerful handgun I've ever shot.

The 460 is definitely an attention getter as is it's brother the S&W 500. Both The 460 and 500 are crazy rounds but they are not fun to shoot. Did get to shoot a S&W 500 once, it was really cool but never again.

The Desert Eagle is a lot of fun. I could shoot it all day but my bank account couldn't. The second round I ever shot out of my DE was in to a water melon at about 15ft. The watermelon was there one moment and gone the next. :bowrofl:

I agree. My old neighbor had a 460 I fired five rnds and that was all I needed. Not fun.

Rusty 08-29-2016 01:39 AM

Friend had a Thomson Contender with a couple of rifle chambered barrels. I shot one round of 444 Marlin, and one round of 45/70 Gov't. and called it quiets! :icon14: My wrist was hurtin'! :icon14:
