How often should one clean the K&N air filters? I've had mine in for a few months now but they don't really look dirty.

Depends on your location, but I thought something like every 50000 miles.

I clean mine about every 6 months -- overkill? Perhaps.

I do it about half as much, but I've got the Injens, so I have to take the front bumper off. :frownyfays:

I haven't even touched mine yet. I think I've maybe put 8k miles on 'em.

I just tapped them to get the bugs out but put them right back in.

Yes, according to some Google searching and the K&N website, 50000 miles = time to clean.

Are your filters still red coloured or more brown/black? If reddish, you're good to go. Of course, you can't go wrong with Mr.onzedge's K&N filter maintenance plan either.

Both stock and K&N still look red. I know what a dirty stock one looks like.
