also..have you ever used ATItool? Awesome way to scan your card for artifacts as you adjust clock settings. A good rule of thumb is to go at least 15 mins.

I haven't used it yet. I will keep it in mind for when I do OC, though. I am going to stay at stock clocks until I get this issue sorted out.

Ah OK.

Does ATI do BETA drivers?

Also, about 3 months ago I had the EXACT issue you had and the problem boiled down to my Mobo. My pci-e slots were drawing too much power and causing black screens/crashes..i got a replacement board and problem went away.

just something to note i guess.

God I hope it's not a problem with the board. I don't want to take it apart again.

With respect to ATI... it seems like every driver they release is Beta.

I guess I need to get some GPU/CPU intensive benchmark program as well, just to see if maybe it's BF3 that's the problem.

Definitely do some temperature checks on your GPU's. I had to strap a fan to the side of my cards in SLi mode, or they'd easily overheat. The little fan solved the problem.

I also had to turn off the software fan control because it wasn't sufficient enough to cool my card. The fan was spinning at about 50% when the card was in the high 70 Celsius range. I override fan controls and set it to manual speeds at certain temperatures (50% at 60 cels, 60% at low 70 c etc.

Definitely curious though, because it is not uncommon for it to be a problem with BF3..i hear of peoples rigs crashing ALL the time from the game.

It very well could be the top card overheating. It kinda sucks because both of my cards have some pretty nice dual fan coolers with huge heatsinks. I have noticed auto fan control doesn't do much, so I'll probably create some custom profiles. I don't mind noisy fans as long as they are doing their job.

I have a laundry list of things to do tonight to see if I can solve my problems and get everything stable.

Now that I'm used to the game I'm having a lot more fun.

...also the helicopter changes have made my life was a gunner/pilot easier.

I'm partial to the 870 on every map that isn't wide open, also. It freakin' destroys people.

Also m4, you might need more power. My buddy has the same setup you do, except his runs a 950w. He was having some stability issues until he upgraded, too. I mean, technically 750 should be fine, but it seems to be a trend with these cards.

Also you shouldn't be having heat issues. I run a 6970 and it is pretty cool. I have three case fans blowing on it, though.

Hey guys, it definitely isn't GPU temperature related. Under load I am peaking at only around 60*C for the top card.

I just disabled the onboard audio in the bios and will play without it for a while (ugh) and see if that makes a difference.
