Sorry, I can't help you there. I've had both dogs and cats, but never both at the same time.

Our cat is slowing down some in his "golden" years, but as I was outside grilling yesterday, I did see him prancing uncharacteristically across the back yard. Upon closer inspection, I observed a mouse in his mouth.

I was pretty proud until I surmised that he had probably gotten the mouse from a neighbor's yard and trucked him back to our yard to display and enjoy
