Was trying out the launch control feature in UpRev on the HR nismo. Second pull was pretty good. Tires just hooked up,, but I now have a whining noise that appears that it's coming from the rear diff? It's not super loud, but if I keep it at 3k rpms I can hear it occasionally. Wonder if I just Fried it. Any thoughts? Noise was never there before.

60k miles and I used redline mt-85. Maybe only 10k miles after diff. Oil change.

I was going to buy a wavetrac anyways, but... was hoping to do that next year. I'm just hoping it's not the transmission.

Hang on, isn’t mt-85 for the trans, and you’d run synthetic 75w-90 or -140 in the diff? I can’t remember if mt-85 is spec’d for the diff too?

If the noise is coming from your rear diff, whining, to me that’s sounds like a gear issue, as in your r&p isn’t set up properly. Is it possible, however unlikely, that a hard launch threw the backlash out, loosened the crush sleeve?

I dunno, it’s 3am and I’m about to turn in so I’m probably just reading this all wrong anyway.

I guess it's GL4/GL5 approved. I used to do the MT-90 and 75w90 mix or something of the sort in the beginning until MT-85 came out. It's a blur for me too... haha.

I ordered a bunch of Motul 300 and I'll throw that in and pray to the Z gods. Go out and smoke some subbies for the sacrifice afterwards ;-)
