And so after some thought, I have decided to go with the surgery... Without any other real choices, I am going for it...

Doc said it will be a bitch, but the last 6 people they did this to all lived and they were all older than me and in poor shape. The surgical team up there thinks I’m the best candidate to survive this.

August 25th is the 10 hour surgery. They said that after they cut open the side of my throat and remove the cancery stuff, they will use a 5” x 5” square of flesh off of my right forearm to make a new Epiglottis. They said I will stay in a sleep for about 5 days in intensive care and then progress to the regular care. Eventually 2 months of rehab to learn to speak and eat...

Wish me luck,...

Spoiler
Best wishes Spoiler.

Good luck with your surgery. We're praying for you. I kind of figured that you would go with the surgery once you did a little more digging on it. Even tho you won't be able to talk. (that be might a good thing to Debbie). Your figure ain't broke and still work. So keep typing. Meaning don't go dark on here!

E,
Excellent choice, an extremely tough one but a good one It’s also the one my wife picked after reading your original post.
Without doubt it’s going to be a rough road but your daddy didn’t raise a wuss ! YOU GOT THIS BROTHER
Also great to read about Deb’s cancer not spreading, that’s going to make her treatment a bit easier on her

Spoiler, good luck man, we are all pulling for you, I’m sure you’ll come out on the other side better than ever.

Perhaps when you’re healed up and the pandemic is over we should all come out and take you for some tasty bacon. I’ll buy your first round bud.

Thanks, and when I make it back to normal again, I want a ride in that Prius again...

And Miss Debbie had her Breast cancer surgery a week ago with minimal discomfort. A week later, which was yesterday, they told us they determined they got it all and it had not spread to any Lymph node glands.

We were quite happy with that good news

Ok. We need some happy news in here until spoiler can get back to his bacon eating session. Which seriously man, if you need anything at all. Don't hesitate to give me a call.

Happy note, Susan and I are putting a 100k offer in on this house. We both liked it and it's a perfect starter home.
