Look at Hong Kong and the protests. The CCP was scared to death over that. They knew they were on thin ice. They back down a little to try and get a handle on things. But the people are still protesting. The CCP wants Taiwan in the worse way. The CCP won't make a move until they think their military is on equal footing with us. The problem with their military is that it's a drafted service. It's not a professional military. 2 year hitch. They have the numbers, but not the training.

I was at Home Depot today to pick up a new toilet fill valve that I screwed up installing. There was a lady in front of me with an oxygen concentrator on...

Why on earth would you be out, if you had to rely on that to survive?

I saw the same thing a week or so ago... two different ladies, both on walkers and with their air tanks in tow... My only guess is that they must not have anyone that would/could help them with their shopping.

Do the supermarkets in your area offer delivery? Maybe that word needs to be spread by the media, instead of the hysteria.

I am not sure about delivery, but they all have online ordering with curbside pick up now

In my area. There is a 7 day back log to order food at some markets.

The state of Pa. is locking down the whole state, not some counties as before.

We are making changes in the store. Starting tomorrow. We will limit the number of people in the store at one time. Closing down garden. One way in. One way out. Walmart is making all of their aisles one way.

My county has 14 cases and 1 death. The death was in a nursing home about 1.5 miles from work. So now everyone at work is on pins and needles.

China finds it more prudent to "loan to own" where possible, than to invade. Example, many African nations with resources. The red dragon is more than happy to build roads and ports, paying off politicians and keeping governments from being thrown out. Then, the other shoe drops and they import Chinese labour instead of employing locals. By the time officials in those countries have had enough, Xi hands them a bill and says to "pay up or shut up".

Trinidad & Tobago recently ran into this. Argentina is next.

They are wealthy, smart, and very good at playing the long game. That's what makes them so dangerous.

We should be cautious quoting an article we have read as fact since much of it still scientific conjecture at the moment.

I have currently heard. It affects Asian men more than anyone because they tend to smoke more. Or smoking also prevents the S protein of the virus bonding with ACE2 receptors, so complete opposites.

Viruses mutate so that may explain many things differing in other countries, the UK hasn’t had it as bad yet as mainland Europe.
What we must do is not become complacent, social distancing is still probably our best bet.

The UK government did think about using the Herd immunity method by then when given the mortality model when 60 % of the population being infected which is what is required for the herd immunity method, decided it was a very very bad idea.

Belarus are just saying drink vodka, but then that country was irradiated by Chernobyl (which didn’t happen according to the Soviets)

In the meantime let’s just have some light hearted banter

Oh and btw... the Brits invented swearing and can swear better than anyone
