Man, I cannot help but think of all the people that put all of their heart, soul, and money into a restaurant or other small business, and now their world is literally collapsing.

Restaurants here can still do takeout and delivery. Just no sit down. Of course they're still going to be hurting bad. Two of my friends own bicycle rental shops, they haven't been told if they'll be able to stay open. People can still go outside for exercise.

You would think not since they are not essential businesses. I hope they got a stash put away for a rainy day. Sounds like they are going to need it.

Yeah, I think you might be right. They did stock up on hand sanitizers, gloves and hand wash stations. They're going to open until told not to. Since people can't do anything else, they want to get out and walk, run and ride bikes although we've had rain about everyday for the last couple of weeks and more due.

Seriously. I said this to my wife last night. We're very fortunate - I support the semiconductor industry (exempted from shutdown) and she's in banking. But just about everyone else we know is impacted, including my dad (small business owner - construction work). This is going to break a lot of businesses, no doubt.

Normally, I'm super excited about Fridays. However, due to the coronavirus sh!t, I will be staying in all weekend



My in-law's have their own business, in which they have seen a sharp decline in their business lately.

The government is talking about corporate bailouts and sending cash to Americans. While this is great and dandy, they need to put family-owned businesses first, as they have nothing to fall back on, and put less focus on the big@$$ companies. God forbid corporate executives/shareholders make a million less than last year....

My father and I work for ourselves. Thankfully with enough in the bank to pay salaries for a year if necessary. Many small operations do not have this luxury.

Unfortunately, while small business may be the heart and soul of America, it is Big Business that keeps politicians in power. Therefore, corporate America will always take priority. We have seen it time and time again.
