$2000?!?!? Holee fuk! :icon14: How do you afford car parts? :(

I spent $150 at the grocery store about a month ago. Haven't been back since.

Sounds like the amount I’ve spent on fasteners for my garage :wtf2:

JARblue 03-18-2020 07:05 AM

Bunk... what steps have you taken to mitigate road noise in your roadster? There's a new thread on the topic. I suggested they just put the top down ;)

lol...right! Hmmm.... road noise was pretty much expected when getting a roadster. Its kinda like asking how do you keep it from getting too sunny when the top is down...

I suggest filling the cabin with batts of R20 insulation. While itchy, it will help keep the cabin warm, and reduce sound from outside. If that doesn't work, the user can frame out the interior, using the traditional 16" centers for each stud, and drywall + paint to taste.

Have you tried a second time at Lowe’s to get your money back ?
I forget who posted it but they said to go to the manager and if you didn’t gat any satisfaction threaten to call corporate in front of him, and be prepared to do it ! $600 is a lot of cash.

The fact that a sales associate told you that you could bring them back means something or else you wouldn’t have bought the replacement fasteners there :gtfo2:

-ZS-Carpenter 03-18-2020 08:36 AM

I was sceptical on that return from the start. Those bolts are junk after being in that treated lumber

I wish $150 would last me a month. My grocery bill is usually around $400/week, but this coronavirus and media got me spooked, so I figured it's better to load up. Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Store was empty of TP and paper towels. No pasta. No sauce. No cleaning supplies. No disinfectants. Little red meat. No coke.

And the store was rationing most of the above items, 3 per person.

Leingod 03-18-2020 10:11 AM

I saw people hoarding all the pasta in lines. I just walked past and grabbed a 5 pound bag of 00 flour and semolina flour. I'll make my own pasta itches!

I just got back from my local grocery store. Besides some shelves being bare, it was almost like normal. Was able to get apples, asparagus, potatoes, avacados. They had water on the shelves but not distilled like I needed. I mentioned it to the checker and she had a gallon sitting at her station. They are doing that to keep people from hoarding them. They also had napkins and bread. No lines and plenty of parking.

Last minute out of the blue Telemedicine meeting the other day. Seems all other projects are taking a back seat to gear up for this thing.

The beer fridge does need some restocking in case things really get bad. I'll probably go in the morning and see how things are going at the grocery store. Maybe I can get some milk, too

JARblue 03-18-2020 02:22 PM

The liquor cabinet has a good variety, but I'm low on or out of most of the good stuff. The highlights are as follows:

~200mL Don Julio (tequila) :( :(
~900mL Monkey 47 (gin) :yum: :yum:
1.75L Tito's (vodka)
1.75L Bacardi (rum) :barf:

vtec to vvel 03-18-2020 02:22 PM

So I've had a wave of changes at work. It started off with modified office hours being Monday through Friday from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM and weekends closed (I already get weekends off anyway so the latter part didn't benefit me).

Now, they are alternating work days where we come in every other day, but still get paid for 40 hours.

Don't worry too badly. Here are the options:

1. Everything will work out.

2. We all gasp out our last breaths lying on a cot in a Wal Mart parking lot while our lungs fill with fluid, or starve to death as supply chains fail and crops remain unplanted, or are killed by roving bands of cannibals literally hungering for the flesh on your bones, or die of blast and/or fallout as our governments decide that if the West is going down for the count, China's going with us.

Either way, there's nothing you can do ab it!
