Morning all you pork pullers... I’ve been in St Augustine, FL for a few days at a Bacon Convention.

I was a guest speaker again. This time I gave about a 90 minute synopsis on how one can tell the mood of an individual slice of bacon by listening to the tone of the sizzle.

My program was yesterday afternoon and it seemed to be well received.

Afterwards when we all hit the bacon bar, some of the attendees told me it was truly titalating. That made me quite proud as I had been researching that topic for a long time.

I think I will be traveling to the Iowa Porker Convention this summer to speak at “Bacon-Bash 2020”. It is in mid-August. That should be a fun trip. I’ll probably drive the Z out to that....

Rusty, Madwi is flying in Feb 20th. I'm starting my teardown the weekend prior (starting the 14th) removing LTH and putting OEM back in place. I'll also have the fascia off, remove intakes, crash bar, upper plenum, fuel rail, and exhaust. That's probably enough to get started. Might do engine mounts (poly) while I've got the headers off.

You're more than welcome to join either weekend. Mad's got first dibs on the guest bedroom, but I can absolutely provide food, a room, an air mattress, and possibly him snuggling with you if he gets lonely and you play your cards right. In which case you'd also be upgraded to a bed!

Have to see how things play out at work. My hours got cut. :shakes head: If I come out. It would be for the weekend. Friday to Sunday.

Food for thought=with a set of crows feet you can swap engine mounts without pulling the headers. Not really relevant in your case but I figured I'd throw it out there.

TBH, I don't miss those days. I was never the fastest, but my chit never came back. :icon17:

We had one guy that got chit done super fast, but it always came back for complaints. He was forever harassing me about how slow I was, and how he made more money than I did. He left about a month after I got there, not sure where he went.....maybe to a place called Calvert's .....:ugh2:

I worked flat rate in a Chevy dealership. That flat out sucked. Had one guy. All he would do is the 350 and 400 turbo tranny's. Nothing else. He was making a killing. He could knock 3 out a week.

I've rebuilt a Ford ATX, a Turbo 125 & a Turbo 400, and it was something I disliked intensely. The ATX I laid out on a bench in the order I took it apart, replaced all the burnt/worn parts, put it back together and put it in the car. The damn car still wouldn't move. :shakes head:

Turns out, the pump drive shaft had about an inch broke off of it and the broken part was in the convertor. I fished it out with a magnet, put a new pump shaft in, put it back in the car and finally got it moving. :icon14:

I have an intense dislike for rebuilding transmissions.....:shakes head:
