Check condition of tank/ as if it’s had any moisture over the years could be fubar

Everytime after I run it. I drain the tank. Sometimes, I could get about 8 oz. out of it.

If you’ve been draining it & water hasn’t been “Rusty” (no pun intended) then you’re probably OK,,,as they don’t build chit the same as they use too
If you get a good commercial grade one - get ready to shell out some clams

Found a "New Style" replacement pump for $191.00. Also have to get a new unloader line for $31.00, and a New Style" check valve for $98.00. That's $320.00 plus shipping. Don't know what the inside of the tank looks like after 36yrs either. Do I take a chance and repair the old compression, and hope the bottom of the tank will last. Or just get a new air compression?

Thinking on this one. If I have room for it.

You would probably get a discount & I’ve heard that particular brand is a pretty quiet running compressor
