It's official, I'm job hunting. I have a relative that has been bugging me to apply to Cerner, telling me I need to work there. The current company has a board meeting tomorrow and with the level of uncertainty, it is prudent to be looking.


It's no fun looking for a job at my age....

To be specific, the company I work for builds a medical device that teaches preemies how to suck. I build, test, install and service the device.

That's a pretty good device to back. My group builds defibrillator paddles for infants and adults. It's nice to have at least 1 item you're proud of.

I applied for my old position that I retired from for chit and giggles. Got a reply back about 3 weeks later. Told me that I wasn't qualified for my old position. I'm the one who wrote the job description to begin.

Cerner definitely pays the bills. Clinical Engineering roles in the hospitals themselves pay handsomely too.
