Btw. Someone have the max sized tires I can put on base 18 wheels? I can't remember if it was 245/35 or 40. And 275/35 or 40. I'm ordering tires asap. Rears are shot after that trip.

just get you a piece of sheet metal about the size of a piece of paper.. you'll need a good pair of scissors to cut it in half, but first measure the oil cooler, then based off that cut your plate, and do it in 2 places.

Use rubbing alcohol to clean the sides of the oil cooler, then use velcro extreme on the outer edges of the oil cooler, do the same with the sheet metal..

I usually slide both pieces through the grill.. its a tight fit, but you can do it.

eastwest2300 05-14-2018 09:55 AM

your tires were shot before you made the trip..:ugh::ugh:

Do me a favor and check your oil levels and feel/look at the filter and cooler area to make sure nothing is leaking after the drive home.

eastwest2300 05-14-2018 10:35 AM

good idea mr. madwi :iagree:

You may have to play with adjusting the exhaust. Might be tapping the x brace or something.

madwi 05-14-2018 11:19 AM

All I know is I am not crawling under there to check. :icon17:

JLarson 05-14-2018 12:05 PM

Lol. It's Lein's problem now.

Lein, the reason I asked about the heat shields is depending on the kind of noise you're hearing, they may be vibrating against the cat section of the pipe. I removed mine on the 370z. I left them on my 350, and they caused nothing but problems.

Oil levels look solid still. Will check for leaks and filter when I get to my house. Don't have ramps or jacks at Susan's. Don't hear any vibrations at all currently. Going to grab lunch, gas, a d go to lowes for the plate stuff. No word FROM Seb today yet and still nothing from Chase....

StevenSlice 05-14-2018 01:17 PM

I still need sleep and more coffee.

This weekend at Streets was a drainer

Pretty square fitment on 19x12,,,wheel doesn’t appear to be bent; I’ll balance it in the morning & get Official weight of the wheel-as tire’s are 32#https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...aeb8bd996e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e35ec14ed2.jpg

Just put the rim on the balancer. Use a dial indicator to check the rim. Rotate the rim by hand to see your high and low spots. ;)

This wheel/tire combo is way more wider than the widest police setup & with 8” backspacing; I gotta really space it out on machine.....I gotta look around for the proper adapter to push it out before spinning it up.
I did use a couple cones to test wheel before installing tire...didn’t use dial indicator because balancing machine has been Cowboy’d up & shaft isn’t perfectly true.
I’ll spend more time tomorrow with it & chuck it up tight.

I’ll take one of my 10’s off the front w/285’s & do a comparison,,,as they weren’t in the crash & were very smooth....I’ll be able to tell if wheel is Fubar or not.

Debating if I should file a claim with paypal at this point..... No word from on here either...

As for the tune. I got the ok from Seb to do a WOT pull. The car has officially scared me. My god did it haul. And I didn't even get to 5th gear.

Leingod 05-14-2018 06:35 PM

Ordered those Firestone Indy 500 tires. 245/45/18F and 275/40/18R. Hopefully the bubble effect isn't to bad.

Leingod 05-14-2018 07:07 PM

Giving Chase until tomorrow. Otherwise will have to file a claim with paypal.... I'll end up ordering the spoiler direct from powertrix and just waiting.

madwi 05-14-2018 07:13 PM

Got some good sleep today. I tried to stay up all night but I passed out around 2 am with xbox controller in hand. Woke up for about 15 minutes and told myself I needed to get back on my normal schedule and stay up until 10am but I fell asleep again. :icon17: Total sleep was around 11 hours. I was sore and wiped out, glad I have an office job :icon17:

Lucky. I need to deploy a desktop tomorrow. Set up a few new users that started over the past week. Backup and redeoply a spare hdd for a busted desktop, figure out a p2p connection for our marketing girl, and God knows what else that I missed over the weekend.

madwi 05-14-2018 08:00 PM

Tomorrow is pierogi and Ms. Pint sausages for dinner. We had so much food this past weekend we didnt have time to cook and eat it all, it is a good problem to have.

Starting to get a little excited for Zdayz. Need to pack, buy plates and crap for the cabin 660 dinner thingy. Need to put interior of z together, all the plastic trim under the hood and undertray. Lots of crap to do and not a lot of time. Took wed. off of work so hopefully I can get a full day of wrenching in and be ready for 6:30 am departure Thursday morning.
