For next winter project. I'm pulling out the tub and doing a walk-in shower. Think I might tile the whole thing.

JARblue 05-14-2018 08:05 AM

Totally missed my 500K rep milestone. Oh well. Now onto 1M!!

Yup, that's what I did in mine. Had a huge old cast iron tub in there, also robins egg blue. That's gone, shower stall is in place, just need to find the right kind of tile.

Morning all - Lein, how's the beast running? Any word from Seb yet on your tune?

Car ran great for the most part! I need to inspect the exhaust and see if any bolts are loose. I couldn't tell if it was a rattle under the car or just my old pipes hitting a bar inside the hatch.

No updates or word FROM Seb yet sadly. The few times I tried to play with the throttle, the car hesitated deeply at 6k rpm and wouldn't go any higher. Gear shifts are stupidly smooth now and the clutch pedal is out of this world! The travel action is buttery smooth and I maybe have to press the clutch down a whole 2 inches to shift.

I'll be working on a block off plate for the oil cooler today. Temps barely got above 160F late last night due to it only being 55F out upon reaching home.

All in all. Very impressed and will only get better once Seb begins working with me. I owe those Michigan guys a lot!

JLarson 05-14-2018 09:18 AM

Did you leave the heat shields on above the cats? They don't always play nice with aftermarket parts.

JARblue 05-14-2018 09:21 AM

Does Seb attend ZDayZ? He might just be busy getting ready for the upcoming week. He's usually on point in terms of response time - I've gotten a response email from him on Friday evening at 10 pm before.

Yea. We def left those on. Whatever the noise is, isn't a huge deal. I don't even think it was rpm dependant. Just random throughout the night and not even very frequent. One thing is for sure.... The car is actually quieter with resonated Hfc and FI 18 inch exhaust as opposed to just axle backs.

ZeeingAround 05-14-2018 09:23 AM

I don't think you will need the block off plate after a few days. I have one I could have given you. Sorry, but it just didn't work out for me to visit this last weekend.
New clutch? which one did you go with?

Just the RJM clutch pedal. And new shift knob?

They did not drop the transmission. I can only imagine the fit EW would have thrown :rofl2:

He responded yesterday that he'd try, but due to mother's day..... Which I totally forgot about because I have no mother worth caring about.

Im sure he will get to me within the next few hours. The guy really is always available to work with. It would be perfect to play email tag with him today since I took today off. Get tuned and be ready before the day is even over with.

Thats the danger zone.. thats where you gotta be careful

Leingod 05-14-2018 09:31 AM

Yea. I left it alone and just kept it on cruise the whole way back. I only had to do 1 or 2 hard launches to get up to speed. The car handled beautifully. It won't be driven much until Seb begins work now.

Im still doing a block off plate just to be on the safe end. Just a quick aluminum sheet and some velcro. Hahaha.

Pretty sure the last one I installed took less time to install that it took to remove the OEM pedal. It was about 30 minutes total. After so many installs, I now know exactly which sockets and extensions and ratchets work best in the cramped space.

:iagree: Don't want to be driving for any length of time at temps much lower than that. The oil temp gauge inside the car reads about 20F low from what I can tell and you generally want oil temps to hit at least 180F.

yeah brother, them oil coolers do some funky stuff to your oil temps, its amazing how fast the temps can fluctuate.

eastwest2300 05-14-2018 09:42 AM

Im gonna eventually upgrade to the v.3 rjm pedal..its THAT nicer than the 1st 2 versions.

I just installed mine yesterday. Easy! Did cut my knuckle pretty badly though under the dashboard... 14mm nut broke loose very abruptly on one of the switches. The only annoying part was trying to get the limiter switch wire clip with needle nose pliers... that took me probably 10 minutes.

Ah maybe that's the difference, I had the v3.

Leingod 05-14-2018 09:46 AM

Yea. Plate is def being made Nd going on today. Not risking anything for a simple 5 minute fix.

Leingod 05-14-2018 09:46 AM

Also. If Susan doesn't wake up soon, I'm going to lunch without her. Haven't eaten since Perrins yesterday and starving right now. Need more taco Bell.
