I have never seen a hr department with this much power though. They're deciding salaries, tracking employees resumes, and even included in financial info for the company as a whole.

that is horrible. Ive been with companies such as that. I left as quickly as i found something better. It truly is a toxic, demoralizing environment to be in. Run! Run!
